Meet Roxanne Yvonne

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Roxanne Yvonne. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Roxanne , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Experiencing imposter syndrome can be incredibly demoralizing. There are times when you doubt your own abilities and question whether the opportunities presented to you are genuine or deserved. Overcoming this feeling can be a daunting task, and I can attest to this firsthand as I have grappled with it on numerous occasions. It can lead you to some dark places, making you question the validity of your achievements and wondering why you were chosen in the first place.

However, it is important to remind yourself that your unique talents and skills set you apart. The recognition you receive for your work and the ambition you possess are real and valid, despite any doubts that may creep in. It may sound cliché, but as creators, we often struggle with acknowledging our own worth. To combat imposter syndrome, it is crucial to take a step back, reflect on your accomplishments, and proudly declare, “I did that.”

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hi there, I’m Roxanne, a photographer and videographer
based in Raleigh, NC. Originally hailing from West Palm
Beach, FL, I made the move to North Carolina in 2002 and
have called it home ever since. Witnessing the growth and
development of my city into the vibrant hub it is today
has been truly inspiring.
Photography has always been a deep passion of mine, and
turning it into a career has been a dream come true.
Through my art, I strive to capture timeless moments and
evoke a range of emotions that we all carry within us.
Sharing these expressions with others is a journey I am
excited to continue and expand upon in the future.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Launching my business wasn’t simply about creating something important; it was about igniting a fire within me. It provided a platform to not only refine my existing skills but to forge new ones entirely. The invaluable network I built along the way wasn’t just a source of knowledge, it became a wellspring of inspiration, constantly pushing me to shatter limitations and relentlessly pursue even more ambitious goals. Remember, the journey to your dreams may be challenging, but don’t let anyone extinguish your passion. Pursue them with grit and determination, and one day, you’ll wake up living the dream you envisioned.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

It’s nearly impossible to pinpoint a single source of support in our lives. But the unwavering love and encouragement from my parents has undoubtedly shaped who I am today. My mom’s constant belief in me has fueled my confidence even during challenges, while my stepdad’s unwavering support has empowered me to keep pushing forward. My sister might have been a source of honest feedback and a constant source of inspiration, motivating me to strive further. And perhaps my boyfriend acts as my biggest cheerleader, celebrating my victories and offering support during setbacks. Each of them has played a vital role in shaping who I am today.
