Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rudolph Jones III. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Rudolph , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I got work ethic from my parents to start at an early age. I watched them work in and day out to eventually retire. They both were teachers. My dad had a business, and I learned from him how to run a business. I watched him run his business and work a job as well. Also, my grandfather was a college professor so that helped as well. He worked until the age of 75. Now currently I get some of my work ethic from my wife. She is very determined, and I get energy from her She is very driven and work ethic, and I often get energy from her. We have a business together, so we work hard together it has truly been a blessing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I run own and operate a few businesses. I am a real estate agent, so I work with my clients to get them in real estate. Then me and my wife own a tax preparation business. We do all aspects of the tax return. We do personal, business and non-profit. We also provide bookkeeping and notary services. I think it is exciting because no day is the same when you own your own business. We represent are brand with just about anything that we do. We are looking to grow are business and nonprofit clients in 2025. We are also looking to expand the bookkeeping business as well in 2025.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think my motivation has always been a quality that I have had. The next would being resilient with any area of life or business. The next would-be dedication for my goals and dreams. I think you want to know who you are not trying to be anyone else and continue to work on your skills and craft. You must work on your skills and craft it will open up doors even you did not expect it.
What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I think it is better to invest in areas you are weak in. Because if you do that you will be more well-rounded. That way if you need to pivot to another area, you can do so easily. I started doing bookkeeping a few years ago and it has paid off for sure. My strength was tax preparation, and I followed my plan to expand my business and expertise.
