We were lucky to catch up with Rudy Mage recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rudy, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic was deeply ingrained in me by my mother from a young age. Observing her perseverance through tough times, I began contributing as soon as I was able to. Throughout my life, I’ve had a variety of jobs, from making pizzas and outdoor sales to gym memberships, retail, and restaurants. I firmly believe that hard work always pays off. This belief has driven me to consistently put in my best effort, and it continues to do so.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Hard work- Define what you want to achieve and create goals around it. Stay focused and track your progress. Above all, develop a routine and stick to it. You have to be consistent every day and give every day.
Honesty- Whether it’s in business or personal life, always be clear and truthful so you build a brand of honesty. Keep your promises and admit mistakes when they happen, but make the necessary changes to fix them. Be honest with yourself, understand your strengths and weaknesses and work on them. Ask for feedback.
Perseverance- You’re going to fall a lot, it’s how you push yourself through difficult times that matters. Stay focused, find what inspires you, and keep going. Learn from every setback, figure out what went wrong, and use it as a lesson to improve.
