Meet Ruth Fleury

We were lucky to catch up with Ruth Fleury recently and have shared our conversation below.

Ruth, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My mother is a strong and passionate woman. Growing up, I’ve watched my mother make ends meet to support my father despite challenging times. This has influenced me to be resilient through the midst of adversity. I have learned to find joy in life rather than stress over things that I can not control.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My name is Ruth Fleury. I’m the CEO of Scholars Of Tomorrow Publishing, LLC. I am an Educator, Author, Publisher and Speaker. With pen, paper and my laptop, I embarked on a literary journey, and crafting stories. My stories illustrate diversity, courage, friendship, and self-love. As my books found their way into the hands of children around the world, its influence left a trail of inspiration in its wake. I remained grounded in the belief that every child deserves the chance to dream. My literary work advocates for equity in education as a preventative action for change. I believe that children’s uniqueness and learning styles must be accommodated to maximize their success. I wrote and published four books called HYPER KID, SO THEY SAY!, Moving Rio Coloring Book, Self-Love with Positivity and Soup Joumou Freedom Celebration. My books are available on my website, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Malik Books, Vroman Bookstore, and Greenlight Bookstore. My upcoming book is called Embracing Me! My daughters are inspired by work and enjoy storytelling. My oldest daughter wrote a book called Fun Times with Mom. She is working on her second book called Fun Times with Dad. Stay tuned for the launch dates.

Beyond my roles as an Educator and Author, I embraced the sacred duty of motherhood with open arms to five children. In my children, I found the echoes of innocence that inspired my creativity and fueled me to make the world a brighter place. Through my life and dedication, the threads of love, learning, and storytelling intertwined to create a legacy that would resonate for generations to come.

In January 2023, I launched a Book Coaching Program to support aspiring authors write their book. We also offer publishing services. What are you waiting for?! Register for the book coaching program today! S.o.tpublishing@gmail.com or www.scholarsoftomorrowpublishing.com

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are respect, responsibility and generosity. My advice for folks who are early in their journey is to believe in yourself. Also, a journal is essential; use a journal to document your wins, challenges and next step. Journaling will help you be respectful of time, be responsible with prioritizing daily tasks and be generous to yourself and others.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I take a short break from everything to ensure that I have a silent and safe space to relax and reflect. I suggestion taking a nap, a walk and enjoy your favorite snack. Mindfulness exercises are great to help clear your mind and relax your body.
