Meet Ryder Klein

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ryder Klein. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ryder, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?

That’s a great question! I remember coming across a Reddit thread about dealing with haters, and there was this one person—can’t remember their name—who commented: ‘People who are haters tend to be insecure about themselves. They want to put you down, so keep doing what you’re doing and don’t stop.’

When I first started receiving hate comments, it really messed with my head. I kept thinking, ‘I don’t understand how people can hate me. I’m generally a good person—what did I do wrong?’ Reading that Reddit comment made me feel so much better. It helped me realize that people who spread hate usually don’t put themselves out there. Posting content every day takes bravery, and I’m proud of myself for doing it.

If you ever encounter haters, remind yourself to ignore them and keep pushing forward. You’re doing the right thing by sharing your craft and talent with the world.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a music producer, DJ, songwriter, and influencer who loves telling stories through music, inspired by personal experiences. I go by ‘Ryisfly,’ and what excites me most about creating music is the endless potential to craft a hit song. For example, one of my favorite artists, Avicii, created his iconic track ‘Levels’ on his laptop using FL Studio. That inspires me to wake up every day and make music, thinking, ‘Wow, I can change the world with my talent.’

The name ‘Ryisfly’ is more than just a name—it’s a motto, a lifestyle, and a mindset. To me, being ‘fly’ means embracing your true self and letting go of the noise and expectations others place on you. I strive to live a stress-free life, and my name reminds me to stay authentic and unapologetic about who I am.

Currently, I’m working on a new album, the sequel to my last release, Immersion, which came out in May 2024. This upcoming album draws inspiration from my solo travels through Eastern Europe, particularly the Balkans, last fall. It reflects my journey of exploring diverse, less mainstream cultures, immersing myself in unfamiliar traditions, and fostering a spirit of open-mindedness along the way.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three most impactful aspects of my journey have been collaboration, creativity, and enjoying the work I do. I remember one of my college professors saying to our class: “Everybody wants to make it big, but you don’t have to rush to create the best thing ever or become the next big name in the music industry. You need to enjoy the work you do. If you’re rushing to put something out there, people will notice, and that’s not a good thing.”

That lesson has stayed with me ever since. It completely changed my approach to music. Now, I focus on having fun and embracing the creative process, taking my time instead of stressing over deadlines. It’s one of the most valuable pieces of advice I’ve ever received and has become a cornerstone of my journey.

For me, being creative means thinking outside the box and challenging the status quo in music. It’s about avoiding trends and carving out a unique niche for yourself. Creativity often comes with opposition, but I see that as a positive—it pushes you to stand out not only as a person but also in your sound.

Another critical lesson I’ve learned is that everyone in the music industry wants to succeed, so don’t be afraid to reach out and collaborate. There are countless musicians, producers, and DJs out there who are in the same position as you, striving to make their mark. My advice is to connect with as many people as possible who inspire you or align with your vision. Don’t hesitate to put yourself out there. If someone says no, move on—there are always more opportunities. Leveraging your network can open doors you never imagined possible.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

My biggest area of growth has been my social media skills. In the winter of 2023, I started posting DJing videos on TikTok and Instagram every day for a month and a half. My goal was to have fun with it and show people what I could do, without worrying too much about likes or views.

By the end of January 2024, people began to notice my work on social media. I went viral overnight for a transition I created between “Area Codes” by Kali and “Mo Bamba” by Sheck Wes, which gained over a million views. That same day, another TikTok of mine blew up—a transition between “Take It Off” by Kesha and “Take It Off” by Fisher, which also generated nearly a million views. Within a month, I gained over 5,000 followers on TikTok. That accomplishment led to interviews with local radio stations, new connections, and even club gigs in NYC.

For anyone looking to succeed on social media, my advice is to focus on consistency rather than aiming to create one spectacular video and posting it once a week. The algorithm can be unpredictable—sometimes your least favorite videos will perform the best, and your favorites might not get the attention you expect. Don’t rely on the algorithm to do all the work for you. Instead, keep creating and sharing consistently, and let your passion and persistence shine through.
