We recently connected with Sabe Anderson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabe , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I always had music as a lifeline for me, but I believe after going through a really tough phase with addiction, I found a deeper purpose in music. Once I recovered, I became kind of obsessed with healthcare and music naturally became part of it as well. It’s such a powerful tool for healing and connection. Now, I can’t imagine doing music without purpose. I’m way too old for this. It’s all about raising awareness for mental health, personal growth, and building a sense of community.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hi, I’m Sabe Anderson, a creative entrepreneur, musician, healthcare expert, and executive. I’ve worn many hats during my life, working across different industries, but always blending creativity, innovation and leadership. Committed to excellence, my personal experiences and skills allowed me to have a unique perspective to foster personal development and advocate for mental health. I had a tough phase going through addiction and being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which made me obsessed with the healthcare world. I found there an interest in creating technological solutions that bridge the gap between medical professionals and patients. My work in electronic prescribing and digital health systems allowed me to lead projects that brought innovation and efficiency to care delivery. My experience in healthcare, aligned with my personal trajectory and the challenges, became the source of my drive to explore health, music, and creativity as vehicles for healing and transformation. Music that has always been in my life, got another purpose.
I like to write about things I overcame. My songs are like my tattoos. In 2024, one of my songs, “Border”, got into Formula Indie, being broadcast to over 6 million listeners across the world, and I just released a new song in collaboration with legends of the music industry. After a decade of putting the guitar and mic down, I yearned for music again and found Steve Phillips (guitar/producer) and began the BipolarBuck journey. Later on, Dan Pectol (drums) and Chris Elliott (LostboyX) joined us.
We believe that music is a powerful conduit for change, a vessel for knowledge, and a platform for dialogue. BipolarBuck’s art is dedicated to raising awareness and harnessing the transformative power of sound to advocate for mental health awareness, personal development, and communal wellbeing. I want to create a movement in music that will give musicians opportunities to have autonomy if they desire and a holistic approach to life.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most impactful qualities in my journey have been hope, practice, and the pursuit of joy over pleasure. Looking back, I think about my mother—raising five boys while married to an alcoholic husband—and how difficult that was. That’s why I prioritize my responsibility to my wife and kids over any personal vices. Once I truly understood what peace and joy meant to me, I found the strength to overcome the cycles of temporary pleasure through better habits and discipline.
As for advice, I would say: friends first, business second. Build genuine connections with people—whether in business, music, or any aspect of life—before asking for anything. Understand how you can positively impact someone’s life before taking from them. Everyone deserves autonomy, boundaries, and respect, even if they only have one skill or a perceived “value.”
I make sure my wife and kids feel fully supported and loved by me, so they don’t have to seek that comfort elsewhere. It took me 50 years to figure that out. Even though I always provided for and protected them, I was also toxic at times, placing my stress on them. When we work on ourselves, set boundaries, and develop self-respect, others notice, support it, and begin to come out of their own cages. There is always a way to meet in the middle and connect as two whole souls.
Get rid of the labels you place on yourself and focus on real connections. That’s why I sing—to keep things simple and share what I’ve learned and experienced.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Looking for individuals who are purpose-driven rather than fame-focused—those who prioritize impact over recognition. Through my business ventures, I’ve gained access to some of the world’s leading experts in education, healthcare, technology, and security. Together, we are bringing the best minds to protect children worldwide and help heal those who have been hurt in any way.
