Meet Sabine Gedeon

We were lucky to catch up with Sabine Gedeon recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sabine , so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
The most impactful habit I’ve created as part of my self-care routine is a morning routine and making it my non-negotiable time. This has created space for me to pour into myself first thing in the morning, before starting the day and pouring myself into others or my business.

My routine entails waking up at or before 5am (and not hitting the snooze button), followed by three hours dedicated to feeding my body, mind, and spirit –

Hour One – I workout either at home or in the community gym
Hour Two – Read, listen to a chapter of a book on Audible, or catch-up on a podcast episode focused on developing a growth mindset
Hour Three – This time is used to pray, meditate, journal, or just sit still

By incorporating these three activities in my day first thing in the morning, I find myself better able to focus and serve others throughout the day. An added benefit to incorporating the morning routine into my daily habit has been experiencing higher levels of self-confidence and worthiness, and a stronger willingness to set and maintain boundaries with people and things that used to drain my time and leave me feeling empty.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Learn to give to yourself first. In a world where the demands on our time, energy, and resources seem never ending, it is important to carve out time everyday to give yourself what you need most – whether that’s rest, movement, or getting support from a coach or mentor.

Trust your intuition – There is no shortage of experts, guru’s, and random people who want to share their advice on how someone else “should” live their life, build a business, or navigate the corporate career maze. And while there may be some merit behind the advice or strategy presented before you, at the end of the day, we are all programmed with the answers we need to address the individual challenges we will face on this journey called life. Tap into your inner wisdom and then draw from within, the courage you need to take the first step towards achieving your goal or dream.

Develop a growth mindset. There is nothing you can’t, be, do, or have if you’re willing to embrace learning – be it through a structured course or training, or by examining past “failures” for clues on ways to improve during your next attempt.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

The Power of Ted by David Emerald. As I learned about the “dreaded drama triangle,” I was able to see the truth and begin moving from experiencing situations where shame, guilt and disappointment were always present, to creating opportunities and relationships where love, joy, mutual respect, and harmony are at the foundation.
