Meet Sabrielle Augustin

We recently connected with Sabrielle Augustin and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sabrielle, so excited to have you with us today and we are really interested in hearing your thoughts about how folks can develop their empathy? In our experience, most folks want to be empathic towards others, but in a world where we are often only surrounded by people who are very similar to us, it can sometimes be a challenge to develop empathy for others who might not be as similar to us. Any thoughts or advice?

Thank you. I think empathy grows from lived experience, especially when you’ve had to move through loss or disappointment and still choose kindness. Living through those moments teaches you how powerful compassion really is. When you’ve felt pain, you understand how deeply words and actions can affect others. For me, empathy means awareness: recognizing that everyone carries invisible struggles, and choosing to respond with care rather than judgment.

The Importance Of Our Soul | How Much Longer

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what youʼre working on?

Of course. I’m Sabrielle, though artistically I go by SabrielleMelodies. I’m a storytelling composer literally, and also a creative director and educator. For over a decade, I’ve composed for games, animation, and interactive media. I’ve always believed that music can express emotions and stories in ways words cannot.

Right now, I’m focused on projects that bridge creative direction, audiobooks, education, storytelling, and emotional design. I founded Asmeriecharm Studio as a creative space to explore those intersections freely. Within Asmeriecharm, I blend my own stuff, melody, culture, and meaningful storytelling to help listeners feel seen, understood, and re- enchanted by the world around them.

Our first major project, Emeradia, combines narrative, illustration, education, and original music. It’s one of my proudest achievements. We’re currently developing Book Two, continuing to explore how sound and story evolve together.

The Hidden & Silent Empress:

If my music connects with you, that makes me happy, and I hope I’ve helped in some way. I love sharing my unique perspective and stories through my compositions. My work is deeply influenced by my own experiences, emotions, and worldview, and I really hope it connects with others in a meaningful way.

Growing up, I often saw others receiving flowers on special occasions, which left me with a sense of longing, as I never received any myself. So, to fill this void, I began symbolically giving myself flowers as I started my journey. This practice became deeply meaningful to me, marking its significance in both my personal and creative life. This gesture, rooted in my diverse

background and unique experiences, represented both femininity and my personal journey. It even inspired me to subtly incorporate flower symbolism into my work, reflecting my role and attempting to speak out as a female composer in a predominantly male industry and my desire to champion the presence of women in music.

As I’ve grown and matured, I’ve moved on from this practice and found new ways to express my creative identity and passion. This transition has been a significant part of my development, leading me to explore experimental avenues and discover other ways to continue evolving and developing my voice in the industry.

Lone’s Heart:

My music reflects a diverse range of elements, blending bold and elegant aesthetics. I often create melodies that take on an ethereal quality, even though I don’t intentionally aim for that, along with orchestral arrangements that gently explore themes of resilience and empowerment. Drawing from femininity, personal stories, emotions, my travels through different cultures, and imaginative concepts, I find inspiration in concept art to create entirely new worlds through music. This blend of my life experiences and emotions, offers listeners a glimpse into my soul, often with deep emotional resonance. That personal connection is what really excites me about sharing my work with others.

Dance With Me?:

I experienced a significant setback a couple of years ago, but now I’m focused on rebuilding and connecting with like-minded people who resonate with my work. I’ve just released a new album called SabrielleMelodies: Rebuilding, which I’ve been working on over the past few months as I got back into writing.

Originally, I intended to take a year off from composing, but inspiration struck with a surge of ideas I had always wanted to explore, waiting for the right moment. As time flew by, I realized that if I didn’t pursue my passion now, I might miss my chance.

I’m proud of these tracks. Pushing through the challenges was difficult and vulnerable, but ultimately rewarding. Letting go of concerns about what others might think was incredibly liberating. The album is available on all music streaming platforms. If my music connects with you, that makes me happy, and I hope I’ve helped in some way.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I wouldnʼt say Iʼve “succeeded” yet. Iʼm still in the middle of my journey, and itʼs tough. But Iʼd choose kindness, no matter what, persistence, passion, and if I could add a fourth, patience.

Kindness builds genuine relationships, but it also means protecting your own energy. It feels increasingly rare these days, and it can be disorienting when kindness turns out to be strategic or insincere. Persistence keeps you moving when things get difficult. Passion lights the path forward. ♙nd patience reminds you that your pace is your own. Honestly, that success rooted in authenticity lasts much longer than success built on comparison.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

One of my challenges right now is building stability while preserving creative independence. Iʼm learning to form collaborations grounded in mutual respect, shared purpose, and not pressure or control. Iʼm also focusing on what I can truly influence: the quality of my work, the people I align with, and the worlds I create through music.

Itʼs not always easy, but every time I stay true to that, I move forward a little stronger and freer.
