Meet Sabrina Thomas

We recently connected with Sabrina Thomas and have shared our conversation below.

Sabrina, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience to take on what comes my way is God Given. When I look back over my life. I have always been resilient just in different ways.

Life is about times and seasons. These seasons are where I build resilience and build patience.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Author, Speaker, Visionary, TV Producer, and a passionate Autism & Special Education Advocate. I have over 20 years of experience as an advocate and a strong voice in the special needs community. I wanted to broaden the scope of my work and I started an empowerment community called “Girl Don’t Count Yourself Out”.

This community aims to connect women from all facets of life to focus on self-care, confidence and building self-worth. With this movement, Sabrina continues to follow her passion for service by supporting women while they step into becoming the most empowered and uplifted version of themselves.

I have co-written 17 books and a 16-time Amazon Best Selling author. In October 2021, I created along with my special needs son but for him a coloring book series entitled “Color with Omar”. These coloring books are a fun learning coloring experience where you get to learn about the creator (Omar) in each series.

On February 24th, 2023 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I am currently on a faith journey while fighting through Breast Cancer.

What’s next for me,, In support of Breast Cancer, I have an Empowerment Weekend planned in October. On. October 5th I am having a Paint and Sip for Breast Cancer Awareness and on October 6thI I have an empowerment brunch called “Girl, Don’t Count Yourself Out, Empowerment Brunch. Part of the proceeds will be donated to a local organization that supports women who are affected by breast cancer with resources.

I also coming out with a Solo Book Project within in the next two months called’t give upp. Girl, Don’t Count Yourself Out: You Cant Give Up Now. I am talking about my Faith Journey while fighting through Breast Cancer.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
There are a lot of major Key components while on any journey….

1. Belief: You have to have a belief. Nothing can stop a person who has a strong belief system.. Believe in yourself, and the world will believe in you. It all starts with self-belief, You have to believe that you’re capable of achieving great things before the world will believe in you. Stop doubting yourself and start believing in your abilities, strengths, and potential. Remember, the only thing holding you back is yourself.

2. Do the Work: I’ve found that anything that I put serious time and WORK in has worked out and came to fruition. You have to be willing to put the time and overtime into what you’re building!

3. One last thing…… NEVER be afraid of starting over! (I’m preaching to myself) I’ve been thinking small now God is telling me I need to be thinking BIG. Do it afraid! You will never know what you are ⁣capable of becoming until you reach the other side of your fears. ⁣

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I do two things pray and meditate.
Just five minutes a day** can make a world of difference for your **mental health”.

Take a mindful break with meditation will do the following::
– **Reduce stress and anxiety** ‍
– **Boost focus and clarity**
– **Improve sleep quality**
– **Promote inner peace**
Then, shift your focus to **gratitude**. Reflect on 3 things you’re grateful for, big or small. This simple practice:
– **Lifts your mood**
– **Increases positive emotions**
– **Improves overall well-being**

Every leader/entreprenuer has felt it… we all get overwhelmed- those feelings of doubt, fear, lack of self-confidence and lack of self-belief. Whatever it is we want to achieve in life, no matter how much we want it there will always be times when you hit a challenging period, your motivation hits a wall and you feel like giving up.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Despite the overwhelming feeling of wanting to just give up, it’s actually the most imperative time not to.⁣⁣⁣

Prayer:

Prayer is an avenue to resolution, the path to finding an answer to a problem. It provides insight into our dilemmas and tough decisions.⁣

Believing in something that hasn’t materialized yet can be challenging, but prayer holds the key to unlocking miracles. Believe with all your heart that it will happen, and let your belief be reflected in your actions and words. Trust in the power of prayer to bring about the change you seek. I am a living testimony to the incredible transformation that prayers can bring.

Real talk, I know sometimes is hard finding the strength to continue praying when you are going through a tough season, and it feels like your prayers are not being heard. ⁣

I’ve been there… we all have weak moments. Everything in life worth having requires a process. If it weren’t for the Breast Cancer, I would have never become the woman I am today. Today I say “thank you” to the Breast Cancer, it led me to become the best version of myself.

But know you have to put some hustle behind that prayer. Prayer without a vision and a grind is called an illusion..

Add Gratitude, Prayer, and Meditation to your daily habits and you will find it harder to quit when the tough gets going. ⁣
