Meet Sadiqa Williams-Glusman

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sadiqa Williams-Glusman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sadiqa, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

My natural curiosity sparked my wonder for nature—it’s always been my first source of motivation. In many ways, my purpose found me before I even realized it. As an extrovert with a knack for breaking down big ideas, I’ve always been able to explain things in a way that makes people listen and understand.

I got into wellness 25 years ago when I was pregnant with my first son. I subscribed to a weekly magazine that detailed his development in my womb, and it fascinated me. It deepened my admiration for the woman’s body and how all of life is intricately built—like Legos, but on a cellular level. I learned that our bodies are formed by the food we eat, and our intangible selves are shaped by our thoughts.

True to my nature, I took action. I started volunteering in “hood” gardens for access to healthy food, while diving into Deepak Chopra and similar teachings for mental and spiritual wellness. When I shared what I was learning, people consistently told me how much they loved the way I explained things—especially those from marginalized communities. That’s when I realized my gift.

I began teaching health and wellness through cooking classes, then expanded into gardening—installing food forests and teaching people how to bring wellness into their everyday lives. And with the state of our planet and the health of our people, I know my work is deeply needed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I honor my calling as an Earth stewardess, bridging people and nature for connection. My journey began when I collaborated with co-ops and local organizations as a vegan cook 20 years ago. My plant-based cooking classes were more like “people and planet wellness eating sessions”. Over time, I realized attendees connected with food only through taste, so I introduced potted plants to shift the focus to total and complete well-being. Gardening became my way of fostering a deeper connection to nature.

Seeking both spiritual and financial fulfillment, I launched my own wellness business. Through Seven Hills Garden and Soil, my husband and I install edible landscapes for families to grow food, medicine, and plants for beauty. My workshops and tours, led by me—the “inna CIty Hippie”—immerse children and adults in nature’s abundance, engaging their senses and creativity. They smell, taste, and feel over 20 plants, then we blend plant-based creations with hands-on planting, and participants take home a plant to continue their journey.

Expanding my mission, I now host seasonal wellness retreats that align with nature’s cycles and rhythms, guiding women in simple, cost-free rituals for whole-self fitness. My upcoming retreats focus on Spring Cleansing and Summer Hydration & Energy Harnessing.

Everything I do is about making wellness exciting, fun, and empowering—for people and the planet. What’s not dope about that?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Getting people to commune with nature through my unique teaching style, inspires healthy living through gardening and cooking with real whole foods, rather than just focusing on dieting and working out. My genuine sincerity along with my gift of gab, helps me connect with both adults and children, drawing them in with interest and leaving them empowered and ready for change.

In addition, adaptability has been key for me—I’ve learned to pivot and refine my approach based on what truly resonates with people. Hands-on experiential learning has also been essential; engaging the senses makes lessons stick and deepens connections to wellness. Lastly, my commitment to continuous learning—from herbalism to permaculture to cultural food traditions—has expanded my ability to educate and inspire.

For those just starting out, my advice is: be authentic, hone your communication skills, and never stop learning. Stay flexible and fluid in your approach and find creative ways to engage people—it’s not just about giving information, but about making it meaningful and actionable

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes! I’m open to collaborating with anyone whose work fosters creativity, well-being, and meaningful experiences. Whether you specialize in food, drinks, natural beauty products, holistic health, sustainable living, community events, or creative expression—if it enriches people’s lives, I’d love to explore how we can work together.

Because my work aligns with well-being through nature, gardening, and experiential learning, nearly any fun, engaging activity can complement what I do. If you offer a service, and I offer wellness, we make a perfect match!
