Meet Safarri Jessop

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Safarri Jessop. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Safarri , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I started training in martial arts when I was 13, and halfway into that I started modeling and eventually I became a professional photographer. A lot of people thought it was unique that a deaf person could accomplish so much especially in becoming a world champion in Haidong Gumdo (Korean swordfighting) and then became a model and eventually a photographer. It was a long journey to become resilient and having the courage and confidence to reach this mission.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a deaf photographer and a martial artist world champion. I also am a social media influencer and have a lot of fans and followers. I found my passion in martial arts at age of 13, and trained nonstop for the next 15 years and became a world champion. During those times I started modeling and became a professional model and I traveled to model for photographers til I picked up interest in taking photography and I realized I loved to take photography and edit them on my terms so I started working with a camera and I loved wedding photos so I thrive to become a wedding photographer. I work as a social media influencer for many years posting about my martial arts and modeling and photography and gained a lot of followers. I enjoy those kind of work that made me most happy and I hope to be an inspiration for everyone.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My three most impactful traits would be the skills and knowledge of Martail arts, posing for modeling, and the effective and creative ability to take photos and edit them. It takes a lot of self confidence and courage to start, and then the patience and determination to keep going. My advice would be that no matter how small of a step you takes, it is nevertheless moving you forward into the bigger step. No one became successful overnight, it takes hard work and patience and dedication to keep going even if you fail more than once. Don’t give up on your dreams. The results in the end will be worth it.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m looking to partner up with people who would appreciate sharing same ideals and perspectives with me and who I can learn more from and have a deeper connection of experience in all areas of photography, and for Martail Arts I’m hoping to be invited onboard with a team of specialists to share my knowledge and skills and to learn more about the work and the effects of Martial Arts science that would help the next generation of students.
