Meet Sahara

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sahara. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sahara, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from my upbringing. I grew up in an environment where hardship and abuse were part of daily life, and where dreams felt out of reach. That changed the day my mother said, “Enough.”

From that moment on, I learned what it meant to work hard and help my family move forward.

I was surrounded by strong, hard-working women; women focused on surviving, rather than dreaming or achieving. When I had children of my own, I wanted to change that mindset. I wanted them to believe they could aim higher, set meaningful goals, and fight for them -no matter where they came from.

To me, resilience isn’t just about pushing through; it’s about learning, evolving, and continuing to improve in every way: mentally, professionally, personally.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a Leadership and Customer Care Training Coach with a deep passion for helping businesses grow and thrive.

For 19 years, I was part of BackFit, where I helped the company grow from one office to ten. That experience taught me the power of strong leadership, teamwork, and customer care in driving sustainable success. It also inspired me to dedicate my career to helping other organizations and leaders reach their full potential.

My professional foundation was strengthened through the ownership and operation of a Sandler training franchise, where I had the opportunity to work with diverse clients and industries to develop leader, strengthen teams and drive growth. That experience deepened my expertise and gave ma a broader perspective on what it takes to help businesses and individuals thrive.

As I move forward independently, I’m excited to continue that mission -helping companies unlock their potential through practical strategies, leadership development, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I would say that my greatest strengths are my ability to inspire and influence others through my presence and example, my resilience in overcoming challenges, and my self-awareness that helps me grow continuously.

I bring skills in leadership development, team and business growth, and effective communication, all aimed at helping leaders and organization reach their full potential.

For anyone just starting out, I’d say: pay attention to the influence you have on others, even in small moments, and always looks for opportunities to learn and grow. Seek out role models who inspire you, and lead with integrity and empathy -these are the qualities that will shape your success and the impact you leave behind.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

For the last 30 years, my greatest source of inspiration have been my children. They motivated me to become a strong, resilient, and unstoppable role model, which pushed me to develop the skills and knowledge I needed to succeed.

By showing them confidence, purpose, and goal-setting, I learned perseverance, adaptability, and the power of leading by example.
