We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sahra Brandt. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sahra below.
Sahra, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
Being a mom and a business owner self care has taken on so much power; I tend to take one night a week from 6:30-9:30 and do something for myself, whether that be a “girl dinner” of salad, fries, and rose or taking myself to a hot tub spa and reading for a bit. Having these moments to recharge and do something solely for me as a PERSON has been paramount.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a personal stylist geared towards helping to take the mental load out of getting dressed. I primarily work with fellow moms who find it difficulty to prioritize themselves, as well as overwhelming to make sense of trends or go shopping for themselves. With my help I am able to define their personal style and make expert recommendations that I know will fit, flatter, and suit them. It’s always so rewarding when clients let me know that I have truly encapsulated exactly what they couldn’t find the words for themselves for and that I have made their lives easier and more stylish.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Empathy is a huge one for me – having a true understanding for my clients’ journey as it is one I’ve been on myself. Patience is another big skill that has helped me to work with busy moms, CEO’s, entrepreneurs who don’t have the time to shop for themselves and may have trouble articulating their wants and needs.
Lastly, I think my innate skill and eye for detail makes me so great at what I do!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always looking to collaborate! Most specifically I love to work with designers, fashion, jewelry, footwear, millinery, etc. to support their growing brands and keep my recommendations to clients fresh and exciting! They can connect with me on instagram at instagram.com/shop_the_city
