We recently connected with Saikou Toure and have shared our conversation below.
Saikou, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I believe it starts with self-esteem which then evolves into confidence.
Everyday presents a new challenge and the only way to become successful is to face them with a good level of self-esteem. I like to envision the objectives that I will be facing and solutions to solve them.
Instead of relying on a primary route; I prepare for as many roadblocks as possible, how I will handle them and how I plan to respond if I am not successful. Using that method; I feel more prepared to face challenges that come my way and even unexpected ones that may arise.
Using that method of preparation allows me to develop confidence as I feel I am mentally prepared to face my challenges.
Being confident is imperative in terms of success as you must have the proper mindset to never quit as failure is impossible to avoid.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
The Money Market is both rewarding and also stressful as it is a high risk/high reward field.
I grew up in West Africa and completed my education in Business and Finance. Before my journey in the sport of Basketball; I traded stocks internationally.
The Money Market and Financial World are beneficial but stressful as they both are high risk/high reward fields and that is what keeps me interested in them.
I am actively trading within the U.S. Market and internationally and running my own Finance company
I was taller than most in my class and teachers urged me to try the sport of Basketball.
Coincidently; I always had an interest in the sport too. After high school, I worked out for A.C. Horoya; which is one of the top teams of West Africa.
A.C. Hooray offered me a contract which I almost accepted; but an even bigger opportunity came as I got to fly into the United States, the Mecca of Basketball.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Consistency. Commitment. Self-Belief.
“Improvement shows when no one is watching.”
Be Consistent.
Most are committed to training while viewers are watching; but it’s what they are doing behind closed doors is what truly counts. Besides team practice; a player must constantly craft their skills and not get complacent which is a routine mistake most make as they see organized team practice as enough.
“Commit to your flaws.”
Success shows while Commitment follows.
Everyone wants success but tend to forget that it starts with committing first. The long hours, missed family events and lack of sleep may be stressful initially; but you’ll realize why you worked so hard when the success shows.
“Believe in yourself or no one else will.”
The belief you show in yourself ultimately determines your success.
Your own level of belief always outweighs the audience’s belief in you. Developing and maximizing that feeling of self-belief starts with repetition along with mental sharpening preparing you for adversity. I always told myself that no matter how many fans you have watching; you are only as successful as the amount of self belief that you develop.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
“Strength is a virtue.”
My parents raised me to believe that I can do anything I focus on and failure is
only preparation for success.
I always carried that mindset which helps me keep going in pursuing my goals no matter what challenges arise.
Growing up in a family where success was the key to any route I wanted to take; they always emphasized using mistakes as growth opportunities and as stepping stones to success.
