Meet Sal Rodriguez

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sal Rodriguez . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Sal , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
My confidence and self steem truly comes from my mother, growing up I was always reminded that if I want it I could achieve it. The idea of failure was always seen at as learning experience, the worst would be I fall and pick myself up but always with her eternal support behind me. That unyielding support in turn alleviated the thought or feeling of imposter syndrome.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My brand is rooted in the belief that championing women via makeup is the most rewarding aspect of doing my job. My first big boy job was at a beauty counter and it brought me joy and a great income. More importantly, it allowed me to develop and hone in on all skills, not just artistry, but also a way of understating and engaging with all people. As a makeup artist, the goal is to have people feel and own their power by enhancing their inner beauty, and in turn shine and feel the most confident! That’s the ultimate reward.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Top three qualities in any job and certainly in beauty is understanding the needs of the client, listening to the client and delivering the knowledge and expertise that they seek while keeping the message easy for them to learn but also inspire them to create a routine that’s confidence building daily.
