Meet Sal Victoria

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sal Victoria. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sal below.

Hi Sal, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

They say that parents are a child’s first teacher.

Like most immigrants, my parents came to the US with the want for a better life and better opportunities.

For as long as I can remember, my parents have always worked hard. Managing to provide food, clothing and a home for 7 kids. As most immigrants do, my parents worked in the agricultural fields in Monterey County or as they call it “The Salad Bowl”. They worked in fields that grew fruits and vegetables such as lettuce and broccoli. These jobs required long hours and hard labor. It didn’t matter if it rain or shined or if they were sick. They worked.

It’s safe to say that my work ethic was influenced at home and I have my parents to thank for that.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Growing up I was a very conceited person. Once high school came around, it just intensified. I cared a lot about my appearance and my main focus was always my hair and clothes. Mainly my hair. I experimented with haircuts and hair color on myself. It never went unnoticed. Little by little, friends and family started asking me to do their hair. So after high school, beauty school was the obvious choice.

After I graduated beauty school, I moved to San Diego in 2013. For the last 13 years I’ve worked very hard to build a clientele and elevate my career all while dealing with my own persona daily struggles and growing as a person.

Today I’m proud to stay that im a business owner and a platform artist.

As of today, my main focus is to start my own brand of hair products and finding new ways to keep elevating my business.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I always say this. No matter what industry you’re in, there are 3 qualities everyone should always posses: Reliability, Consistency, and Communication.

I’ve walkway applied these 3 to everything in my life. Either it’s business or personal. These 3 alone will get you so far.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I love working with others. Especially other motivated individual’s who love working with other talented people.

I’m always looking to collaborate with others for anything such as: photo shoots, video shoots, weddings, large events, hair shows, or even online content.
