We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Samantha Anderson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Samantha, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Clarity came from not having clarity.
I always knew I was meant to make an impact. I didn’t have the full picture, but I felt it. I knew I was the kind of person who helped people feel seen, supported, and capable of more. I just didn’t know how it all came together yet.
I tried different paths. Some felt aligned for a season, others didn’t. But each experience helped me raise my standards—not just in my work, but in how I live, how I lead, and what I’m available for.
I stopped settling for what looked good on paper and started choosing what felt right in my body. I began saying no to things that drained me and yes to what made me feel alive. And that’s when it started clicking: my purpose isn’t a single role or title. It’s how I show up. It’s the energy I bring. It’s the standard I hold—for myself and for the women I serve.
Now I help others come back to their own power—physically, emotionally, and energetically. Because I’ve been there. I’ve lived it. I’ve done the work. And I continue to do it, every day.
My purpose didn’t show up all at once. It revealed itself the moment I raised my standards and decided to build a life that actually reflected who I am.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I help women who feel stuck in survival mode reset their bodies, balance their hormones, and release weight—without extreme restriction or burnout. My approach blends science-backed nutrition with nervous system regulation and mindset work, because lasting transformation isn’t just about what you eat—it’s about how safe your body feels to let go.
What makes my work so special is that it’s not one-size-fits-all. I created The Freedom Formula™, a signature method that helps women break free from dieting cycles and step into sustainable, soul-aligned weight loss by resetting their biology, rewiring their patterns, and rebuilding their identity.
I’ve personally lost 20+ pounds and kept it off for over a decade, even after having two kids. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful this method is—and now I get to guide other women into that same freedom.
Right now, I’m excited to be expanding my Embodied Reset program, which combines high-level coaching with strategic and energetic recalibration to help women fully embody their healthiest, most powerful selves. I also recently launched a new membership community—the Freedom Formula Club—where women can access monthly trainings, tools, and accountability to stay consistent and aligned.
My mission is: to help women stop obsessing over food and start living the full, vibrant lives they meant to. And create ripple effect in their lives
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Emotional Resilience:
The ability to keep going when it feels like nothing is working has been everything. Building a business and transforming your health both come with setbacks. What helped me was learning how to regulate my nervous system so I could move through challenges without spiraling or quitting. My advice: focus on nervous system tools just as much as strategy—they’re what keep you grounded when things feel chaotic.
2. Deep Understanding of Human Behavior:
It’s not just about what people “should” do—it’s about why they do what they do. Studying mindset, habit formation, trauma responses, and emotional patterns helped me support clients on a deeper level (and heal my own patterns too). For those starting out: learn to listen more deeply. Get curious about patterns, not just symptoms.
3. Strategic Simplicity:
Success doesn’t come from doing more—it comes from doing the right things consistently. I used to overcomplicate everything, thinking more was better. Now, my method is built around simple systems that are doable in real life. If you’re early in your journey, master the basics. Be ruthlessly focused and let simplicity be your
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
One of the most impactful books I’ve read is “The Big Leap” by Gay Hendricks.
This book completely shifted how I looked at growth, success, and self-sabotage. The biggest nugget for me was the concept of the Upper Limit Problem” the idea that we unconsciously cap how good we’re allowed to feel, how successful we’re allowed to be, or how much abundance we’ll tolerate before we sabotage it.
That hit me hard.
I started noticing the ways I’d slow myself down right after a big win—whether it was in my business, my health, or my energy. I realized that breaking through my next level wasn’t about working harder; it was about expanding my capacity to feel good and sustain success.
Since then, I’ve incorporated this idea into my coaching work. Weight loss, wealth, relationships—it’s all tied to how safe we feel to receive and hold what we truly
