Meet Samantha Luraschi

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Samantha Luraschi . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Samantha below.

Samantha , so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Being the only one in the room who looks different can definitely be challenging, but it’s all about embracing your uniqueness and staying true to yourself. Confidence and self-belief go a long way in any situation. Remember, your worth and abilities are not defined by how you look. Stay focused on your goals and let your personal talents shine through! It’s important to recognize that diversity brings different perspectives and ideas to the table. When you’re the only one who looks like you in the room, it can be an opportunity to bring a fresh and unique viewpoint to the conversation. Embrace your individuality and use it as a strength to contribute your ideas and experiences. Remember, success is not determined by appearance, but by the value you bring to the table. Keep being yourself and let your voice be heard!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Currently pursuing a masters degree in Forensic Psychology. Im also a member of a local leadership board and started the first hygiene locker in my county.

Peer Kindness Is my main line of work. An organization that took something so tragic and made pure beauty out of it. We’re always looking for new volunteers members and currently have a lot of fun events coming up in 2024!
Working with kids is important to me because I genuinely enjoy making a positive impact on their lives. Seeing their growth, curiosity, and excitement brings me so much joy. Plus, kids have such a unique perspective on the world that can be refreshing and inspiring. It’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of their journey and help shape their future.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, I would say that three qualities that were most impactful for me were resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning. These qualities helped me navigate challenges, embrace change, and stay open to new opportunities. My advice for those early in their journey is to cultivate these qualities by staying determined, being open to new experiences, and seeking opportunities for growth. Remember, it’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them. Keep pushing yourself and never stop learning! Another important skill that had a significant impact on my journey was effective communication. Being able to express myself clearly and listen actively allowed me to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with others. So my advice to those starting their journey is to focus on honing their communication skills, whether it’s through public speaking, writing, or active listening. It can make a world of difference!

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Everyone I’ve met has been beneficial to this part of my journey in some way. I would have to say my father who raised me all on his own is the main grounding for all of my skills, qualities and knowledge. Both of my Aunts Melanie and Molly have played a major part in helping me establish the manners that I have today. Pageants and doing personal interviews have helped my public speaking / comfort go up 100% and the peer kindness organization gives me plenty of opportunities to keep that skill fresh. At this Point in my life the thank you’s are so endless I could never personally thank everyone who has impacted my life and/ or taught me something valuable.
