Meet Samantha Miletich

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Samantha Miletich a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Samantha, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

Imposter syndrome is something I believe every one has experienced in their life. If I’m speaking honestly I don’t feel as though I has over come it.
Your business is a direct reflection of yourself and it can be really hard to look in the mirror. There are such highs and lows when it comes to a service business such as mine.
Whether I lose a client or someone doesn’t rebook it’s hard to not take it personally at first and don’t get me wrong I still do sometimes.
What really helps me get through those moments is trusting I am supported and that everything always works out for me. Once you take away the feeling this is happening to you but for you then you can step more into that confidence.
It’s cliche and easier said than done, but I really do believe the right people will find me and that my service is there for those who are ready.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I love talking about what I do! I take care of you! Not your chores or your day to day tasks but you and your body.
I am a structural integration practitioner by name but really I look at your body and try to give it what it needs. I do a type of fascial bodywork that helps align your body with gravity. Yes it will feel like a massage but it’s much more.
That nagging feeling in your neck, stiff back or hip that just feels like it doesn’t belong on your body. I work these areas as a whole through a series of sessions that help get you out of your patterns that you’ve been holding onto for decades.
I feel this is special because it’s a process we go through together. I am not going to “fix” you nor do I believe you need fixing but we are going to re-educate your system to be more supportive of you and your life style.
I have also been a personal trainer for 10 years and primarily focus on strength that is also supportive of how you want to feel and move through life.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I think it’s best for you not compare yourself to other business owners. What people show outward may look easier than what their experience was. How someone else does their marketing isn’t the only way and you have to find what works for you.
Preserve your energy. It’s important when to know when to say no to people. When you start out it’s easy to say yes to everything. The best way you can give quality is making sure you’re actually able to.
Your way is not the only way. As much as I love and believe in what I do. I know for a fact that I can’t be the only person people see. I am so open to collaborating or referring out to others. Don’t let your ego get in the way of helping who is coming to you.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My teachers have been influential in supporting my knowledge and support when I may not have the answer.
My parents have also been supportive and also watching them live and learning from them.
Friend of mine who are also business owners are so helpful and great expanders on how I want to show up.
I also think myself. You only really learn through experience and people can be there for you but at the end of the day it’s you and if you’re going to help yourself enough to make it through.
