Meet Samantha Norwood

We recently connected with Samantha Norwood and have shared our conversation below.

Samantha, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from my humbleness. I have been without in my life and it took me years to get on my feet. I know what it’s like to need help and be afraid to ask because you don’t want to feel like you are a burden or feel like you will owe someone for helping you.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I have been an entrepreneur for over 10 years. I started out with my own skincare line & then launched Chic Society Magazine in 2015 and that is what got me in the door as far as the entertainment industry. It was successful for 8 years. Right now I have 3 teens who need me so I have decided to make them my focus as they are all close to graduating high school. I do have plans on starting a new business venture. I wont reveal what that is just yet as it is a work in progress.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back I would say my people skills is what helped me become successful. Knowing how to properly communicate with people is important. I always do my best to just be myself and to be genuine basically letting my clients know that they are in a safe space.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
I find that when I am feeling overwhelmed it is best to rest. In the world of entrepreneurship there is always pressure to feel like you should be working 24/7 and not take breaks or rest. But that can become bad for your mental & physical health. Take breaks , make time for your love ones and rest when you need to. You will come back stronger than ever when you do.
