Samantha, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I found my purpose through the very challenges that once felt like they would break me. Growing up in a home filled by trauma, illness, and scarcity, I often felt invisible, unworthy, and undeserving of love. At the time, my world felt broken, but looking back I realized that every obstacle gave me a skill, a lesson, or a tool that shaped me into the person I am today. Over time, I recognized that I was the one in my family who was called to break the generational curses that had been passed down for decades. In healing myself and learning how to shift my mindset, I discovered that my true purpose is to help others who are struggling with the same pain I once carried. Today, I get to use my story to inspire and equip others to create a life of meaning, happiness, and significance, a life they may not even realize is possible yet.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am an author, speaker, podcast host, and founder of Light Up Your Life LLC, a transformative platform dedicated to empowering individuals to break free from generational trauma and step into their true potential. Our mission is to inspire personal growth, healing, and fulfillment through mindset rewiring and subconscious transformation.

What excites me most about this work is it’s deeply personal. Having faced my own challenges, I understand the power of healing and transformation. My podcast, Light Up Your Life, features in-depth interviews with inspirational guests from all walks of life, sharing their unique stories and insights on overcoming adversity and achieving dreams. This platform allows us to reach a global audience, providing motivation and practical steps to live a more fulfilling life.

Beyond the podcast, we offer coaching programs, published journals, and a women’s empowerment community designed to meet women where they are and help them rise. Our latest initiative, Queens of Light, is a vibrant, supportive space where women come together to heal from past wounds, break free from limiting beliefs, and grow into the powerful, confident versions of themselves they were always meant to be. Many women feel unseen, unworthy, or stuck in patterns they cannot break, but Queens of Light offers encouragement, tools, and real-life strategies to overcome those challenges, all while connecting with like-minded women who truly understand the journey. We bring on guest speakers who are experts in their fields and feature focused monthly topics where we dive deep, providing inspiration, guidance, and practical strategies to create transformation. It’s a place to feel seen, supported, and inspired to take bold steps toward the life you’ve always dreamed of.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Reflecting on my journey, three pivotal insights have profoundly shaped my path. The first is understanding energy, frequency, and the law of attraction. I had a breakthrough when I realized that our thoughts and emotions emit frequencies that directly influence our reality. Research from Stanford University highlights that our subconscious mind processes 95 percent of our thoughts and that intentional focus can rewire the brain, creating new neural pathways that help manifest desired outcomes. Recognizing that we are constantly broadcasting at one of the five brainwave frequencies, delta, theta, alpha, beta, or gamma empowered me to consciously raise my frequency, align my energy with my goals, and shift my reality. I also learned that the way we speak to ourselves matters. Positive, intentional self-talk is crucial to cultivating the mindset needed to bring our vision to life.

The second insight is resilience. Napoleon Hill teaches that “whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Holding steadfast to my vision, even when faced with challenges and setbacks, became the engine that kept me moving forward. I realized that my vision was given to me for a reason, and protecting it, while showing up consistently, was essential for progress. Resilience taught me to trust the process and to keep taking action, even when the path seemed unclear.

The third insight is embracing failure as a teacher. The most successful people have failed far more times than most even attempt, and each setback carries lessons that are essential for growth. Every “mistake” is an opportunity to gain insight, adjust your approach, and build resilience. Thomas Edison, for example, famously found over 10,000 ways not to make the light bulb work before finally achieving success, showing that persistence through failure is often the path to mastery. In my own journey, I’ve faced numerous challenges, from navigating a difficult childhood to building my business and personal brand and each obstacle taught me something valuable. Failure is not a sign of weakness; it is a stepping stone to transformation, a tool that shapes character, strengthens resolve, and ultimately guides us toward achieving our vision. Learning to view failure as an essential part of the process allows us to embrace risks, pursue our dreams with courage, and recognize that every setback brings us closer to success.

For anyone early in their journey, I would encourage cultivating awareness of your thoughts and emotions, raising your energy and frequency through intentional practices, and speaking to yourself with love and positivity. Build resilience by protecting your vision and remaining committed no matter the obstacles. Finally, reframe failure as an essential part of growth, using each challenge as an opportunity to learn and advance. By integrating these principles, you create a foundation for lasting transformation and the ability to manifest the life you desire.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

One book that has played an incredibly important role in my development is The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz. This book taught me that success isn’t about luck or talent alone, it’s about cultivating a mindset that allows you to think boldly and take purposeful action. One of the most impactful lessons I took from it is that your beliefs shape your reality. When you truly believe in your potential and think in terms of possibilities rather than limitations, you begin to act differently and make choices that lead to growth and achievement.

Another valuable insight from the book is the importance of setting high standards and aiming for big goals. Schwartz emphasizes that many people limit themselves because they think small, but thinking big encourages you to take risks, stretch beyond your comfort zone, and create opportunities that others might overlook.

Finally, the book reinforced the power of action. Ideas and plans are meaningless without follow-through, and consistent action, even imperfect action compounds over time to create extraordinary results. Applying these principles to my own life helped me overcome self-doubt, push past limiting beliefs, and create the life I always envisioned. The Magic of Thinking Big reminded me that thinking boldly is about believing in your potential and taking action to make your vision real.
