We recently connected with Samantha Posey and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha , really appreciate you opening up about a very personal topic with the hopes that it can help someone out there who might be going through it. What can you share with us about your journey with postpartum depression and how you overcame PPD? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
Overcoming postpartum depression wasn’t a journey I could walk alone, and it’s something I’m still learning to navigate. It’s not something that can be easily fixed or “cured.” It’s a deep, silent struggle that feels like you’re carrying an invisible weight every day. On the outside, people see the joy of a newborn, but on the inside, it’s overwhelming. The exhaustion, the guilt, the feeling of being disconnected from yourself, and the sense that you’re constantly falling short.
I had to start by acknowledging it, which was hard because there was a lot of shame surrounding it.
For a long time reaching out for help felt like a hurdle. I tried to pretend I was fine and power through because “that’s just what you do”. I finally started to look into what PPD actually was. I reached out to other moms and listened to their journeys. It made me feel not so alone and “less crazy” It didn’t fix everything, but it was a step in my journey. I learned that self-care wasn’t just a bubble bath or a quick nap; it was allowing myself to rest when I needed it and not feeling guilty about taking breaks. This is still something I am learning to do today.
Recently I started taking small steps to re-connect with myself outside of motherhood—doing things I loved, even if it feels hard at first. The journey was messy and still is, but slowly, I am seeing glimmers of myself again. When I look back now I see how much strength I gained, not in spite of the depression, but through it. Without the woman I was, I wouldn’t be the woman I’ve become. And for that, I choose to honor her—and give myself the grace I deserve.
If you’re struggling, speak up. You’re not weak; you’re human. And the more we talk about it, the more we can break the stigma and make sure no one feels like they’re in this alone. You are worthy of help, of support, and of healing.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Samantha—a proud mom to a two-year-old son (he’ll be 2 in May!) and a wife, navigating the beautiful & messy journey of motherhood. Along with being a mom, I’m passionate about beauty, lifestyle, and fashion, and I believe you can embrace all of it—motherhood included—while staying true to yourself.
My mission is to help moms, whether new or experienced, reconnect with themselves after the whirlwind of motherhood. It’s my goal to show women that it’s not just okay, but necessary, to pour back into themselves—through self-care, style, and embracing what makes them feel confident. These things all take time!
This space is a safe, judgment-free zone where we can talk openly, collaborate, and share our truest thoughts on beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and the ups and downs of motherhood. I want to celebrate the importance of nurturing our identities and reclaiming our strength—inside and out.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Empathy and Authenticity:
When I’m creating content around postpartum positivity, it’s crucial to connect with my audience on an emotional level. Empathy allows you to relate to the challenges new and experienced mothers face, while authenticity builds trust. Sharing my own vulnerable experiences helps others feel seen, understood, and not alone in their journey.
Consistency and Branding: Building a consistent and recognizable brand is key to creating content that stands out. Whether it’s my tone, aesthetic, or the message I convey, having a clear and cohesive identity helps the audience connect with me. Consistency in posting, voice, and the types of content I share builds credibility and trust, making my platform a go-to resource for mothers seeking postpartum positivity, beauty tips, and lifestyle inspiration.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes, I am absolutely open to partnering with like-minded individuals and brands who align with my message of postpartum positivity. I’m looking to collaborate with other creators, brands, and experts who focus on empowering women—especially new moms—by promoting confidence, self-love, and embracing one’s body through style, skincare, and lifestyle. Whether you’re a fashion brand that understands the importance of comfortable yet chic postpartum looks, a skincare company prioritizing the self-care needs of new mothers, or a content creator passionate about uplifting and supporting women in their postpartum journey, I would love to connect!
