Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Samantha Seiler. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Samantha, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Everyone has a purpose in life. Whether it’s becoming a parent or building an empire and it’s not uncommon to find that purpose maybe later in life or as early as learning to walk. With purpose comes passion as well as risk. When I was younger my dream career as a child was to be an artist – painting to be specific. While I might not have been the best painter, I enjoyed the creativity that came with it. Using any color or brush I envisioned for my work, allowed me a sense of freedom to portray on a canvas. As I got older I took various courses in school, one of them being marketing and learned that specific parts of marketing you can be creative, and I was good at translating that creativity. Whether it was a marketing strategy or a simple graphic. This then drew me to major in marketing and pursue almost 8 years of a career in marketing. While I built a career in marketing, one main point I was drawn to was social media. Social media had just become a very important part of a business’s marketing strategy and the more experience I had built up the more passionate I became. Over the past 10 years social media has changed drastically, and fast, but I felt stuck in my career because I lacked that creative freedom I had once sought out. It wasn’t until I started to work with smaller businesses where I was able to share my creative ideas and run with it in the social media world, that I felt that purpose more than ever in life. This is where I was able to start Samantha Melissa Marketing LLC. I found my passion running social media for small businesses and seeing the results perform well that validated my purpose. But I was only then able to find my purpose with the support of friends and family as well as the 8 years of experience that led me to where I am today. I learned that to find your purpose you have to try new things in life to discover not only what you might be good at but if you enjoy doing it or not.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I started Samantha Melissa Marketing LLC after 8 years of working in the social media world and receiving my bachelors degree in marketing and a master’s degree. I work with small businesses that range from family/veteran-owned to a 1 person team teaching them the world of social media, specifically Facebook and Instagram. The services I offer is strategy (educating and reaching goals) as well as taking over the role of social media manager for them (creating posts, scheduling them, etc.). It is just me at Samantha Melissa Marketing LLC and one thing I enjoy is getting to know more about my clients, their goals, their brand to truly work on a content calendar that fits THEM. I have worked with contractors, interior designers, therapists, pest control, HVAC plumbing companies, and more across the nation! I love when a client is open to my ideas and let’s me run with it! I always say social media is a marathon not a sprint.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Organization, Communication and Creativity.
Don’t be afraid to find mentors and resources such as an organizational tool to master these skills. Regarding creativity, don’t be afraid to think outside the box, no matter how small or big the project or problem is. Communication is key to make sure everyone is on the same page. Don’t forget social media is LIVE for everyone, so making sure you and your clients are on the same page is very important.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Having a solid support system has made me successful where I am today. I had thought about starting Samantha Melissa Marketing LLC for a while before going ahead and taking action. Both my parents, Marc and Melissa, as well as my incredible husband, Jonathan, has been the most helpful in overcoming challenges and reaching my goals where I am today. Consulting with those who are knowledgable in other areas where I might lack when it comes to running a business has helped me along the way. My best friend of over 20 years, Carly, has also had a huge impact on my decision to kickstart Samantha Melissa Marketing LLC with her successful videography business I was able to lean on her as a new business owner. As well as everyone from family on my husband’s side, to my extended family and friends, the vast amount of support I received was insurmountable. I believe the only person who had doubt to start my business was me. But when you’re surrounded by those who believe in you it helps you overcomes those self-doubts. We all know when starting a new business comes new challenges and responsibilities, new stressors and new achievements. But when surrounded with support and love you can achieve anything!
