We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Samantha Welch. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Samantha below.
Samantha , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Confidence and self-esteem have not always plentiful in me. Honestly I’d say that it’s been an internal battle for my entire life and the older I get the more I appreciate all the lessons I had to endure to mold me into who I am today. I’ve been embarrassed, a lot. I was bullied as a child which creating a deep set empathy for others struggling with acceptance, therefor I will not bully others and that in turn gave me a new found self- esteem. You see, tearing other people down ultimately tears down the confidence of the martyr. My own turmoil molded me into the women I am today, and had helped me sustain a business catering to women’s mental and physical health during a most trying time, early stages of motherhood.
Many times, I’ve forced myself out of my comfort zone to complete a task that I know will help me gain success. Weather it be public speaking, recording presentations, uploading silly reels, going live on social media, having tough conversations or the hardest, admitting I am wrong and actively learning from my mistakes. As a child, I wanted to be liked and accepted more than anything, who doesn’t. I struggles to find my voice and allow my confidence to blossom, I was very unsure of myself, but I believe that’s what molded me into a compassionate person as well. Developing my confidence and self esteem started from life lessons I allowed myself to learn from. Putting myself into uncomfortable situations over and over again until they started to feel normal. Being afraid to fail, but failing anyway because that’s how I would learn.
My advice to you is this; work hard, don’t quit. Be compassionate to others, Lead with passion and make yourself uncomfortable, success starts on the other side of your comfort zone and that my friends, will grow your confidence!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My FIT4MOM story starts in 2018. My youngest daughter was born when I was 31years old and I was not okay. I loved her so much, but I had a deep disconnect from myself as a women. I was anxious, sad, irritable, had trouble sleeping and generally felt like my life was forever going to be hard and awful. Come to realize, that was good old postpartum depression. I decided to get my body moving, I google searched workouts for Moms and FIT4MOM Santa Clarita popped up. My first class was so scary, I had my husband tag along and sit on the bench, just in case the baby started to cry and I didn’t know what do to. The classes changed my world. With combined help from my doctor, fresh air, exercise and a village of women who understood the chaos I was going through, I was able to conquer my postpartum blues and start thriving as a new mom with my new role and find bits of my old self again.
10 months later, when I was back to work at my career, working 12 hour days and leaving my sweet baby home with my husband all day I got a call with an offer to buy FIT4MOM. I was absolutely floored, because I wasn’t a business person and the only fitness experience I had was a as a gymnastics and cheer coach in my teen and early adult years. You know that nagging feeling in your belly that makes it hard to sleep? Yup, good old intuition was LOUD and I decided to say good bye to my 6 figure career and hello to a new journey that would allow me to stay home with my baby and help other women feel safe and accepted in motherhood. Here’s the kicker, the previous owner asked me because I was already getting our of my comfort zone and promoting products with a direct sales company. She said I was one of the main people who popped into her mind because of how I was killing it in business already. All our decisions lead to opportunities.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Once I learned and developed the skills to grow my self awareness and leadership skills, I was able to tackle the growing pains of owning a business better and healthier. Some of the books that helped me the most were, ‘Miracle Morning’ by: Hal Elrod, ‘High Five Habit’ by: Mel Robins and ‘The 21 indispensable qualities of a leader’ by: John C. Maxwell.
My best advice is to humble yourself and read. Take care of yourself and read!

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
New motherhood is a revolving door and finding each new group of Moms every year is so hard! If you are a mom or know a mom, please share our program. We hear way to much, “I wish I would have know about you guys when my kiddos was small” We need your help finding all the Moms, to let them know a safe place is out there for them to thrive in fresh air, moving their body and a village of women going through everything they are going through.
