Meet Samantha Whisnant

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Samantha Whisnant. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Samantha, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?

When I first started my business back in 2019, I had just finished a degree in Biochemistry with no experience in digital marketing. I dove into learning as much as possible and taking on as many projects as I could to develop my skills. I leaned into the hustle culture because I thought I had to make up for lost time with courses and clients.

Fast-forward two years, and I was still saying yes to everything and overcommitting myself to work because I thought that was the only way. I was juggling working as a virtual assistant, a copywriter, and an online business manager, with more clients and projects I could handle independently. I was working around 10 hours a day as a freelancer, barely making more than $5K+ months. I was on the fast track to burning out. I started to resent everything that I had worked for, and I wondered if this was the right path for me.

Then I started learning about systems, automations, and how to run your online business more efficiently. I narrowed in on my service offerings and streamlined my client work, making it possible to me to hire an assistant to support me as well. I set up automations for client onboarding and sales funnels, so potential clients can be nurtured without touching base 1:1 with me. I set up clear content processes so I can market my business more effectively, post consistently, and start a podcast.

Now, I am able to handle twice the amount of clients and projects, manage a small team, have a six-figure business, and spend more time working on my business than ever before while only working around 25 hours a week. Now, I help my clients set up systems that make them more money without working more hours.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

During the past 4 years, I’ve helped my clients scale from $20K months to $100K months, have $250K launches, and triple their 1:1 client capacity. I love setting up the back end pieces to make running a business and making money as easy as possible. My goal is to help all of my clients feel like they are thriving as they grow, instead of drowning in a behind the scenes mess.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Resilience – there are so many ups and downs in entrepreneurship. All you can do is accept that early on and trust that you can figure out anything that comes up.
Adaptability- knowing how to adapt to a situation, be open to out of the box solutions and support, and willingness to learn something new, always.
Balance – business isn’t everything. don’t forget to take a step back, look at the bigger picture, and actually enjoy your life!

Seeking support in others (mentors, coaches, peers) and investing in help even when I could figure it out on my own, but didn’t have the time or patience to.
