We were lucky to catch up with Samayah Islam recently and have shared our conversation below.
Samayah , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic definitely comes from my parents and my siblings. Being the youngest I had wonderful, strong role models growing up, laziness was never an option I was taught to work hard at something you want no matter how many tries it took. One thing I’m going to do is work haha
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Professionally, I would like to eventually start holding classes in my field and have several product and retail lines.
Being an esthetician is probably the best career choice I’ve ever made I love it, I feel like people still don’t fully know what estheticians do and that’s okay I enjoy explaining and talking about it. within a few months I will be launching some products and merchandise that blends well with my profession and I can not wait for you guys to experience that with me.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’ve already touched base on work ethic you can get anywhere in life with poor work ethic and habits, always stay consistent and focus. Consistency is definitely key trusting yourself and God will always be the best thing you can do. Always remember to never compare yourself to others.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Consistency and focus. I have really disciplined myself in staying consistent with getting content out and focusing on the main goal of what I want to achieve. We go through ups and downs but those are not the ending results of everything we have to keep moving forward and pushing ourselves
