Meet Sami Nordlund

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sami Nordlund. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sami below.

Hi Sami, appreciate you sitting with us today. Maybe we can start with a topic that we care deeply about because it’s something we’ve found really sets folks apart and can make all the difference in whether someone reaches their goals. Self discipline seems to have an outsized impact on how someone’s life plays out and so we’d love to hear about how you developed yours?

I went so long suffering with gut issues and all health challenges that ended up coming with it that I got to the point where I needed to make a decision. What did I want most? Did I want the comfort of foods that enjoyed or did I want to feel well? I was tired of hurting. So that decision was easy for me. But what I didn’t realize is that making that decision would spill over into every other area of my life as well…exercise, work, relationships.

I later heard the quote from Abe Lincoln…Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most. It is a motto that I live by.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As an online nutrition and fitness coach it gives me the ability to help people in a more holistic approach. As an in person trainer, time was always the enemy. You only get so much time with your clients.
I have loved being able to create a comprehensive program that not only allows clients to learn but also to be also to be able to fit their programs to their schedule and their lifestyle but also to be able to have accountability and access to me throughout the program.
My main focus/niche is reducing inflammation. So many people deal with chronic inflammation and it is holding them back from being able to feel well and reach goals (at the very least). I lived with it for so long myself that it has become my passion to be able to help others to be free of it. Because when you can reduce the inflammation in your body…it’s amazing what you can do and how good you can actually feel!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Tenacity
Openness to learning and trying new things
Learning from mistakes

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

To be honest I love to work with people who are like me.

Who have a deep desire to be the healthiest version of themselves possible and who strive to continue to improve on themselves daily. Who care more about consistency than perfection. Who are driven and self motivated.

Someone who recognizes that they can’t always know everything and can admit that they just need someone to give them the right plan and to walk beside them and support them and guide them but not necessarily hold their hand.
