Meet Samuel Bushi

We recently connected with Samuel Bushi and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Samuel with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
When I was pursuing my dream to race motorcycles professionally back in 2008. I had the privilege of training under a 14 time national champion -Joshua Pramod. To say that Josh has a strong work ethic is a huge understatement. His clinical approach to developing his mind and body left no stone unturned. He was always training, whether you realized it or not. He was not vocal about what he was doing to better himself. His morning ritual of running for at least hour was adhered to as though his life depended on it. Much to my annoyance he did not miss his morning run -rain or shine. Later when his worn knees finally caught up to him, Josh started cycling and doubled the duration of his morning cardio. I learned that working hard pays off when you work hard consistently. I was able to observe in real time how his training made a difference on race day. You only get out what you put in. While I do not actively race motorcycles anymore. The work ethic that Joshua modeled for me impacted me immensely and it is why I operate the way I do today.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a multifaceted artist who started out as a motorcycle racer that became a professional photographer who is also a automobile mechanic. If this seems odd and doesn’t really make sense -be not afraid -your are not alone. I ended up here by unapologetically following my passions. The pursuit of what my heart truly found joy in helped me develop a unique set of skills. This is when I decided I wanted to help other people live out their wildest dreams too!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My three keys to success:

1. A desire to learn and evolve continually.
2. Failing is a vital component of your success story. Embrace your failures.
3. Make it a point to step out of your comfort zone.

Start today, start now. Learn to cross bridges when you get to them.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
I feel most overwhelmed when I’m rushing. Rushing/feeling rushed is your biggest enemy. Planning your moves out in advance will help negate this.
