We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sandeep. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sandeep below.
Hi Sandeep, thanks for sitting with us today to chat about topics that are relevant to so many. One of those topics is communication skills, because we live in an age where our ability to communicate effectively can be like a superpower. Can you share how you developed your ability to communicate well?
Since childhood, my power of observation allowed me to absorb the intricacies of human interaction. I would closely observe my family, friends, teachers, neighbors, family etc. etc. As an introspective individual, I honed my skills in articulating the depths of the human experience. I was always good at noticing details about people and things. With practice, I’ve become good at sharing my ideas and feelings through art. My innate sensitivity to the ebbs and flows of emotional tides granted me a unique perspective on the complexities of existence. Through diligent self-refinement, I transformed my artistic voice into a clarion call that resonates with audiences worldwide. With an intellect rivaling the greatest minds, I wove intricate narratives that captivated and inspired. My artistic endeavors became a testament to the transcendent power of observation, empathy, and intellectual curiosity. I cultivated the ability to convey profound emotions through my craft. I now wield my artistic talents to illuminate the human condition and inspire people in the best way I can.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My journey in the entertainment industry is a tale of chasing dreams guided by my inner voice. I was a brilliant kid in my school, amongst the toppers in science. I passed the prestigious IIT JEE exam in India, and later I chose to join Delhi Institute of Technology to study Computer Engineering, since my IIT JEE rank wouldn’t get me my choice of Engineering at IIT Delhi.
Starting my professional career in the IT industry across the globe, I took a leap of faith to pursue my passion in the creative world. I took a break from my IT career, and learnt Film Direction, Production, and TV Journalism from the Asian Academy of Films and TV, India. I learnt music from various schools in India, and later from Ali Akbar Khan College of Music, California, after moving to the US in 2000. I also learnt video production and music from Stanford University, California. In 2008, I founded my music label, SK Infinity World Media, to make meaningful, avant-garde music for people around the world. I also published my spiritual content on podcasts that were ranked in iTunes’ Top 100 New Age music charts in many countries. My channels on YouTube and Pandora Radio are popular with Relaxing Music, Mantras, Buddhist Chants and other life-inspiring content. My technology background inspires me to incorporate AI in my forthcoming productions.
My music has been chosen for programmes on STAR TV, Channel V, Asia and KMVT15 (California). My music has also been incorporated by Miss World Beauty Pageant organization, Media Channels, Ministry of Tourism, India, and many celebrities in their social media posts. My guided meditations and healing music is also ranked very well in the popular app Insight Timer. All my art owes its existence to my life experiences and of those who have influenced me since my childhood. My musical albums and singles range from New Age, Psychedelic, Rock, Fusion, Rhythm-n-Blues to World Music when it comes to musical genres. I have worked on creating a distinct voice in the crowd of devotional works by bringing the spiritual essence of India to the worldwide audience through my creations by blending Western instruments with Indian Chants & Mantras.
Amongst latest music releases, my recent song release, ‘Jaane Kaisa Ab Imtehaan’, a love ballad, with Bollywood legend Padmashree Kavita Krishnamurthy, promises to be a delightful addition to the collection of iconic songs produced by me for my upcoming short films. I wrote the lyrics of the song, while renowned composer Bappa B. Lahiri provided the music. My other songs include significant collaborations with Legends like Shri Amit Kumar, National Award winner Sadhana Sargam, Padmashree Kumar Sanu, Award winner Alka Yagnik, and composer Bappa B Lahiri. I have sung songs with Sadhana Sargam (Teri Meri Baat Ban Jaye), Padmashree Kumar Sanu (Vande Mataram), Alka Yagnik (upcoming), and Amit Kumar (Cinderella), which will feature in short films. As a filmmaker, I have shot, directed and produced AD films for organizations including Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji’s Art of Living Foundation, Cupertino, USA. I have also made short films to promote Fashion. Lifestyle and Fitness. My short documentary titled “Humanity & Love – Unplugged”, will be released shortly. A lot of my short films have won awards at film festivals including 12th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2022, San Francisco Arthouse Short Festival, Paris Cinema Awards, and Tagore International Film Festival 2022, Mumbai International Film Festival India, and more. It was great feeling and sense of accomplishment to see my music poster featured on Billboard at Times Square, New York in 2022. The poster also received autographs from Bollywood Legends Shri Amit Kumar and Shri Sudesh Bhonsle who were in NJ for a concert during that time.
Last year The Consulate of India, San Francisco, awarded me for my work in the field of Art and Music, at an event organized by them in the San Francisco Bay Area.
This year my song with Kavita Krishnamurthy and Bappa B Lahiri, ‘Jaane Kaisa Ab Imtehaan’ has been submitted for Grammy Awards, under Global Music Performance category.
I feel tremendously satisfied and I am grateful to my audience and to major publications including The Hindustan Times, Times of India, India Today, Mid Day, Bollywood Hungama, Zee5, ANI, India Currents, India Post, India West who have published about my work.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My journey has been shaped by three essential qualities: my unwavering belief in myself, the self-discipline to stay focused, and a clear vision for what I want to achieve. Believing in myself gives me the confidence to take risks and pursue my dreams. Self-discipline helps me stay on track and work towards my goals, even when it’s tough. My vision serves as a roadmap, guiding me towards my aspirations. Together, these qualities empower me to overcome obstacles and reach new heights. The journey is on. I would say to them, “listen to your inner voice, be nice to others, and at the same time, connect with empowering people in your lives.”

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents led a fulfilling and happy life. And they instilled in me the vision they had for their own lives. They shared their unfulfilled dreams with me. Their aspirations became the foundation of my own goals. I grew up with the weight of their expectations. They wanted me to achieve what I deserved. Their experiences shaped the path they laid out for me. Their dreams are my reality. I felt the pressure to live up to their ideals. They are my guiding light. They knew what I wanted to become, and they did their best to take me towards my goals. I am always thankful and feel their presence with me.
