Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sanika & Angel Howell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sanika & Angel, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Collectively, Our confidence and self esteem stemmed from the way our parents raised us. They always made sure that we knew we were gems and could do anything we put our hearts and minds to. They were always supportive of every idea and endeavor we had throughout our childhoods and still, through adulthood.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
We are a women’s fashion boutique located in the historic OTR shopping district in downtown Cincinnati. We specialize in unique and affordable high-fashion clothing. Throughout our three years of business, we have become known for carrying garments with unique cuts, silhouettes and textures that are affordable but will allow women to make a statement in any room she enters. We’ve also become known for having fashion shows and in store events with unique concepts to market our collections. We love to collaborate with other up and coming creatives such as mixed media artists, fashion artists and jewelry designers.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most impactful areas of knowledge and skill throughout our journey thus far are first and foremost; always have a plan, plan ahead and set a timeline for everything. Time management is key, never do things on the fly. Two, Be ready to change things if your original idea doesn’t work. This will happen along the way, and it’s okay if it does. And three know your numbers, it’s important for so many reasons. You don’t want to overspend, be thrifty when running a business. It’ll benefit you in the end.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes! We are always looking for people to partner with. Mainly local aspiring creatives—artists, designers, photographers, videographers and models. We love sharing the spotlight with others whenever we can. We can be reached on our IG @chichxluxx or via email [email protected].
