Meet Santi Castro

We were lucky to catch up with Santi Castro recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Santi, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so weโ€™d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

For me, it essentially comes from interest. By following my interests, I found what I had a natural Affinity to (Music), and when that happened, Love naturally emerged.

And when you are in Love with something, you can work very intensely with it and not tire. You can work many hours and not fatigue, and do a hard labor Joyfully.

So, to work very hard, I try to not use Willpower. I just do the things I like, and that delight me.

I go out and play shows, Singing and Performing, playing instruments. Then, I come home and transcribe music, study great songs, and record my own songs and release them. Then, I practice and improve, arrange more shows, and interact with my Fans ๐Ÿ™‚

Maybe, to someone else it might seem like a lot of work, but to me I would be doing it anyways, its just what i enjoy

Of course, even with a lot of Love there are still times when you do tire, or when things do not go your way for a long time. In these cases, I either rest, or remember Devotion.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a Singer/Artist, with songs from R&B, Soul, Funk, Indie, Pop.

All I do really is just make songs that delight me. I just create a song using all my favorite sounds and Life experiences. My intention is to create something that makes people happy, and that would be great during a live show.

My role is just to be playful and light; and to bring compelling energy & exquisiteness, especially during live performance. I feel a great live show is like a party, everybody having a good time, moving, dancing & celebrating Life together.

I write each day, and work on refining the live show each day.

For many years I worked mostly as a “Studio Musician” singing, writing, producing, mixing; but these days i’ve flipped 180 degrees fully into “Performer Mode.”

Everything served me in the end, being able to record/produce what you hear in your head is a massive blessing.

Sometimes, I help out other Artists record/produce and finish their songs. This is more of a side gig, but i enjoy it a lot, and have learned a lot that helped me in my journey.

For the future, I would like to continue refining the live show, continue releasing songs that delight me, and accept what comes ๐Ÿ™‚

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The greatest gift along my journey has been meditation ๐Ÿ™‚ for me, everything got brighter when i started following my meditation Teachers’ instruction, and practicing Yoga & Meditation every day.

Under their instruction, my thoughts and emotions harmonized and became friendly to me. My mind became silent, and even just sitting, there was Happiness. This process was slow and gradual, and took about 3 years.

Without their help, nothing would be as it is today. They both have my sincerest Gratitude ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m still working with them to progress deeper, and for those who feel a resonance, my teachers are Sat Mindo & Lyonne Premananda.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book thatโ€™s been impactful in your growth and development?

Paulo Coelho – The Alchemist

This book is amazing. As you read it, it just delights your Spirit, there’s just no other way to put it.

On one level, you can just read it as a cute story. But, if you study it and ponder it deeply, you can start to understand what it’s really about.

within the book is a guide to understanding the language of the All, or the All-Chemistry (Alchemy). This knowledge is known by many names, some call it “The Laws of the Universe” or “The Science of Nature”

In the book it’s referred to as the “Language of the Soul of the World.”

If one understands Alchemy they can live in Harmony with the World, and understand why things happen; and be at Peace with them happening, and understand their role in the Creation.
