We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sara Gellert. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sara below.
Sara, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I think it comes from my parents. I was born in Hungary, and I was always taught that most things do not just come your way, you have to work very hard to achieve your goals in life. The most important things that I have learned is to respect people around me, be hardworking and kind. I truly think that if you keep these in mind, you can create a healthy work environment around you.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
It took me a long time to believe that acting was something that I could seriously consider as a full-time career. As a kid, I liked singing & dancing, and I would always put on shows for my parents. Now, as an adult I can really appreciate that I get to do this for a living because this is what I truly feel passionate about. I love making films, being around so many talented artists and portraying these amazing, strong women. I am currently working on a feature film which is so exciting, I have been preparing for it over the last few months, and we are filming it right now. I can not wait to share it with the world when it gets released.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would say being hardworking, persistent and respectful. Being persistent can get you through some of the ups and downs that come with this industry. Of course there are so many talented people around here, so being hardworking is also key. Actors can easily spend around 12-14 hours on set each day of filming, so having a positive attitude and a willingness to be there is so important. We are all human, we have good and bad days but leading with respect and kindness is always a good place to start.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
I call myself a “chameleon” because I can easily pick up/take on other people’s energy. Sometimes this has been a bit of an issue for me in the past, because I would sense someone’s negativity and find it hard to detach myself from it. I would question if I have done something wrong or if they were just having an off day. I have learned a lot from these experiences over the last few years, and now I can accept that someone else’s energy has nothing to do with me, I just need to focus on being the best version of myself.
