Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sara Longoria. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sara , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I failed a lot… a lot a lot and in failing a lot I found my confidence and self- esteem. In failure I found out who I was and developed my iron clad belief in myself and my dreams. The world makes failure a bad thing, but it isn’t, it really isn’t failure at all. It is the stepping stones to getting closer to your successes. It is the moments that build you in to the person you are meant to become. In the beginning failure hit me hard. I made it mean so much about ME, about who I was and my worth. But I used those moments. I didn’t just ignore them and push through, I let those moments derail me. I let them take me to my knees crying on the kitchen floor (there have been many of those moments) I did what almost every one would tell you NOT to do. But in those moments when I let myself be free like this, when I let myself FEEL the failure, at the bottom of those feelings was my confidence, was my self esteem. I saw a quote once that said sometimes all a girl needs is to go back to bed and cry for a day, and then she comes out 10 times stronger. That was very true for me. The world teaches us that failure and emotions are bad, that they are weak, but for me I found myself, my courage, my full confidence in failure and the emotions that came from it. I can honestly say now when I fail – because I still do, ninety nine percent of the time it doesn’t even shake me. Now when people don’t get me or believe in me it doesn’t even phase me. And anytime it does, I know there is something there for me at the bottom of my emotions to help me be more confident and strong and continue on my path to creating an incredible life on this magical planet!
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the founder of a company called Hey U Human. We are an emotional education and wellness company. We work with individuals, companies, schools and truly any human who is ready to have an easier and better life. As humans we are taught many things – math, science, reading, writing, how to drive a car and so on. But we are taught VERY little about how our body, nervous system and brain work. We are taught very little about how life works and how to truly create happiness for ourselves. This is where Hey U Human comes in. We work to help educate humans on ALL the pieces that are missing so that happiness and success become a REAL thing in their life. Success without sacrifice, success without burnout and struggle IS the way, but most people do not know how to do this. We fill in the gaps with our resources whether it be though our courses, membership or events we are dedicated to helping humans have their very best lives. We have currently worked with over 100,ooo people and taught our proprietary methods to them with great success. We have clients in over 84 countries and practitioners through out the world. We are dedicated to making this work accessible so we offer several free courses as well as a Starter Membership and a Full Membership where you can get access to our courses, community and other daily and weekly live events.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Wow, this is a hard questions. I feel like all of it was impactful on my journey. Each and every moment, every person, every little bit of knowledge all adds up. I would tell someone who is early on their journey to enjoy it all, to take in ALL of it. That each moment of life, each piece of knowledge is all here for you, is all part of the journey and the path to you becoming you and you having this life experience. I would say one of the biggest things was listening to myself. Even when people didn’t get it, even when people didn’t believe in me, always coming back to ME and doing what was right for me was a huge help in my journey, I think developing this requires you to take space. You have to tune out the world for a bit and create that relationship with yourself, something we aren’t taught how to do, but is very important. I would also say cutting out people that held me back or were toxic to some degree, maybe not toxic but just weren’t moving in the direction I wanted to go. I always made it a point to surround myself with people who helped make me the best I could be and that often meant having to let go of people that at one point in my life may have played a big role or been very important to me. Lastly I would say taking care of my body. We push our body so hard so often, I mean ask yourself how often you put off peeing or eating or getting water to get something done. Don’t do that, take care of your body and it will take care of you.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
We are looking to collaborate with humans who want to help us take our emotional education and wellness work out into the world. We know that what we have is special, it is changing lives constantly and we are told time and time again that what we teach is truly a missing piece when it comes to being human and finding happiness and success. We are looking for people who would like to connect us with schools and companies that are ready to help more humans have better lives. At the school level our work helps children and teachers in a massive way and we would love to get our programs and curriculums into the hands of more people!
