Meet Sarah-Anne Wildgoose

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sarah-Anne Wildgoose a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah-Anne, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic comes from my mother. It began at a very young age. Growing up, the entire family had household chores that she delegated. We didn’t sign up, we didn’t get asked weekly, and there was no negotiation. We just executed. As the youngest of six, I was given easy chores. I remember one Saturday not wanting to go to every room in the house to collect the trash. Why should I? It was neither fun nor glamorous. Then I thought of the consequences. I’m sure you can relate…it was easier to just do it, move on, and be done. Finishing my chores left me with a good feeling because the job was complete, well done (of course), and without supervision. This routine built empowerment and a sense of accomplishment. It laid the foundation of my work ethic. Looking back, this productivity fostered a sense of purpose. If I didn’t execute, it affected many people. As the years went on, the chores were adjusted according to ability and other responsibilities were added. We never discussed it, but as a family, we worked as a team to keep things running smoothly. These efforts united and strengthened our character and family bond. I’m not sure that’s how my mother saw it; she just wanted a clean house and assistance. My takeaways from her training are self-discipline, focus, planning, execution, and completion. I thank her for that.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Beginning as an Industrial Designer, projects required visual appeal, designing for the user, and manufacturability. When pivoting to Graphic Design, these same skills help me excel while bringing a different perspective to the art of communication.

SAW Design Studio just celebrated its 5th birthday. As visual storytellers, we specialize in Graphic Design, Strategic Marketing, and Branding, accelerating clients’ visibility through digital and print media. These marketing tools position our clients in front of their Target Audience, driving sales.

As a full-service graphic design group, we take projects from concept to production. For example, Ken was offering a retreat and needed a 10 ft. backdrop, pop-up banners, a folder, and name badges designed and produced. Designing multiple pieces provides a cohesive brand image and story. Confidence for Ken. Handling every step of the process saved Ken time and eliminated frustration, allowing him to concentrate on the event. Focusing on customers’ needs, our collaborative process builds beneficial long-term relationships.

Our design solutions capitalize on visual and emotional triggers since:

-80% of us are visual learners; therefore, graphics increase comprehension

-Emotions impact 90% of decisions, so color and the right imagery are key

Our designs are intentional and practical. For a conference, an eBook was the proper media channel to land in the target audience’s inbox. Intriguing and relatable graphic images, plus a consistent layout, built a relationship with the reader. Packaging combines industrial design for the structure and graphic design for visual appeal. For Kochek, a box was designed to hold 12 bottles. The shipping container held 6 boxes, a total of 72 bottles per order. Selling in volume increased Kochek’s ROI by 15%.

For all projects, we bridge the communication gap between client and customer. Our visual marketing tools act like magnets, pulling customers in because:

-Emotional triggers ATTRACT
-Visuals ENGAGE
-Telling the brand story consistently and continually CONNECTS building trust

We work with large and medium-sized businesses, plus startups. As the brand security officer, we ensure all marketing pieces fit and work together because brand unity across all media builds the company’s reputation.

Over the years, we’ve established new brands and worked with existing identities like Georgia Pacific and Schick Razor. There are 3 ways to collaborate: Partnerships, Programs, and Pieces. Partnerships are a long-term opportunity producing brand consistency as an extension of the team. Programs bundle marketing tools that can be customized. Pieces are individual items like logos, brochures, infographics, pitch decks, packaging, catalog/annual report design, and more.

The conversation is the relationship, so let’s connect via the website. Schedule an introductory meeting for a free brand evaluation. This includes market position, target audience, and review of the marketing strategy. We want companies to stay relevant. Let’s get started.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are perseverance, passion, and problem-solving. Back to my mother, she taught me perseverance from a young age. When you combine this with work ethic and passion for what you do, you are unstoppable. Problem-solving is necessary. The advice for folks early in their journey, find your passion; the other two will fall into place.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Collaborative teaching and speaking engagements would allow me to give back and pay it forward. Collaborative opportunities with educators and other speakers would create a deeper offering. Additionally, my passion is to connect with companies that need a partner to help with growth and increase their revenue. Let’s start a conversation and see how we can work together.
