Meet Sarah Franklin

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sarah Franklin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sarah, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I was very fortunate to grow up in a two parent household. I’m the youngest of 3 and have two older brothers. Growing up my parents sacrificed their time to make it a point to show up to every dance recital and every extracurricular activity I was involved in. Making sure they spoke life into me regardless of my performance to them I was always “the best one.” Of course there were kids more talented than me but my parents always encouraged me and spoke over me with words of affirmation. Those words did encourage me to keep going and perfect things and not to give up. The other way confidence was instilled in me was my knowledge of Christ. There’s such a sense of freedom knowing no matter what I am chosen. I am taken care of and no matter the circumstance I will be seen through. I have faced many challenges in my life and have always come out on the other side. The Bible says, “ I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.” That confidence continues to allow me to walk into a room and know I was not only sent there but I have a purpose there. My best advice is follow your true purpose in life and your confidence will grow. That equation is your passion + helping people = your purpose.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I think being confident is the top skill you need in this industry. My client want to know that I am confident I can help them achieve their goals. So education is your best friend to grow in confidence if you are just starting out. Read every article go to ever seminar like I said this is an ever evolving industry so you need to be on top of the latest technology , trends , services.. Be Friendly ! My clients love me because I make it a point to know them. I grew up in a place where the lady at the gas station called you baby and honey and that’s normal. So I definitely can make someone feel like we’ve known each other for years . I want them to feel so comfortable around me. Make it a point to remember names and conversations.
Do not let anyone talk you out of your dreams. If you have a dream on your heart you can succeed at having it. Learn how to drowned out the noise of any negative words spoken about it. You have to be resilient.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Honestly the Bible has been the most impactful in helping me on how to live. The entire book of proverbs is just nugget after nugget of wisdom on life’s affairs from who to befriend to how to handle finances to how to conduct yourself. I can pull from that book daily. When I was a kid I was uninterested. As an adult who’s navigated some of the hardest trials anyone can face I can confidently say that book has helped me the most
