Meet Sarah May

We were lucky to catch up with Sarah May recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sarah, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

First and foremost, I’m excited to address these questions, as I believe they are all crucial to the journey of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Success often involves taking risks, following your heart, trusting your instincts, and pursuing your dreams—no matter how unconventional they may seem. If you believe in your vision, keep believing and keep pushing forward, regardless of the obstacles or criticism you may face.

Often, when family, friends, or others are dismissive or mock your ideas, it’s because they don’t understand your unique perspective. These individuals may not recognize the value of what you’re creating. But that’s a sign you’re onto something special.

Now is the perfect time to invest in yourself and take action on your dreams.

From my own experience, I’ve learned that the key to achieving your goals is showing up consistently every day—not just for yourself, but for your vision. Don’t be deterred by negativity or naysayers; they often fail to grasp the brilliance behind your creativity and may unintentionally hold you back. It’s important to ignore those distractions and instead, focus on surrounding yourself with environments and people that inspire, challenge, and drive you toward both personal and professional growth.

I believe that growth, both personally and in business, comes from expanding into your creative potential. This allows you to authentically express yourself and make a meaningful impact on the world.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Let’s Make Something Amazing Together!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were adaptability, creativity, and relationship-building.

Adaptability: In the ever-changing world of events and technology, being open to new tools, trends, and client needs has been key. My advice: Stay curious, keep learning, and don’t fear change. Embrace it as part of growth!

Creativity: Creativity has helped me differentiate my services and add that “wow” factor. For those starting out, push your boundaries, experiment with fresh ideas, and don’t be afraid to stand out.

Relationship-building: Strong, authentic connections have opened so many doors. Prioritize relationships with clients, vendors, and your community—because people want to work with those they trust.

To develop these skills, stay open-minded, experiment fearlessly, and always put people first!

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is someone who values creativity, engagement, and unique experiences. They’re typically brands, event planners, or individuals who are excited about using innovative technology, like virtual or digital photo booths, to enhance their events or campaigns.

Key characteristics include:

Open-mindedness: They’re willing to explore new, interactive ways to engage their audience.

Collaborative spirit: They appreciate a partnership and are excited to work together to bring their vision to life.

Focus on engagement: Whether it’s for a corporate event, brand activation, or private celebration, they want to create memorable experiences that resonate with their audience and generate lasting impact, including user-generated content.

Ultimately, clients who see the value in connecting with their audience in a fun and creative way align perfectly with my approach.
