We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sarah Meinert a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sarah , thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.
As someone who wears many hats – founder, practitioner, coach, and lifelong mover -I’ve learned that burnout doesn’t just show up overnight; it creeps in when we forget to recharge the human battery. My secret? Structure with flexibility. I keep a steady routine that allows me to step away from client sessions and administrative work to refill my own cup. These “micro-retreats” might be a Pilates, weight lifting, or dance session, a facial, a lymphatic massage, a journaling reset, or a quiet meditation moment with my favorite playlist.
Movement, skin rituals, and mindfulness are my non-negotiables – they keep my energy aligned, my creativity flowing, and my sense of humor intact. Because let’s be honest, you can’t pour from an empty cup… or run a wellness brand on fumes!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
At Ozean Pilates + Wellness, I help clients in-studio and virtually look, feel, and move better through private and duet Pilates, fitness, mobility + recovery coaching, and holistic skin and gut wellness programs. My method blends mindful movements, nutrition, and science-backed strategies that enhance posture, performance, and longevity.
What excited me most? Seeing clients evolve. Each session is dynamic- goals are achieved, new ones emerge, and growth never stops. I love that moment when someone feels stronger, stands taller, and realizes how powerful they really are.
I approach wellness with precision, purpose, and a touch of humor (because serious results don’t have to feel so serious). This year, I’m expanding Ozean’s offerings with skin nutrition consultations, wellness travel experiences, and new digital tools for the whole body health. My goal? To make wellness something you live, not just schedule.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities have shaped my journey most: passion, growth, and resilience with humor. Passion keeps your purpose alive – especially in wellness, where your energy influences every client you meet. Growth keeps you evolving; I’ve never stopped learning, whether it’s through new certifications, studying movement science, or deepening my understanding of skin and gut health.
And resilience with humor? Essential. Running a wellness brand means adapting daily – some days flow, others flop- but laughter resets your nervous system faster than any green juice.
For anyone just starting out: find a mentor or trusted peer who challenges and inspires you. Keep developing your craft, invest in your education, and stay curious. Progress isn’t linear, but with heart and persistence, it’s always transformative.
