Meet Sarah Plasencia

We recently connected with Sarah Plasencia and have shared our conversation below.

Sarah, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

Creativity comes in so many forms. I feel and act creatively everyday. This is via my art, my photography, my cooking, my writing and blogging, my home design and my travels.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am English, born and bred. I feel very international and very open to all life’s wonders and challenges. I have lived in several beautiful places, such as the famous Roman City of Bath in England, Munich in Germany and now Miami! I am a self-taught artist who is open to any art projects. I am also a local blogger and like to blog about the hidden gems in Miami and the surrounding areas.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The best advice I can offer people is to be open to new ideas and go with the flow and subsequently go where life takes you. It can be an adventurous ride.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

I am an avid book reader. I set myself a personal goal to read at least one book per week in 2024. I ended up reading 75 books! I feel that every book I have read, I have learnt something from it. Everybook has a message. It does not have to be an intellectual book either. I read everything and anything. I also like to source my books from thrift shops. One reason for this, is it is very interesting to me to see what books are current and then end up there discarded!
