Meet Sarah Slaughter

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sarah Slaughter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sarah , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

Resilience, to me, comes from choosing to rise after every setback, and my journey has shown me that. I’ve always considered myself someone who can get back up, but healing from chronic migraines taught me what I am capable of when I take charge of my health.

I dealt with this issue for over ten years and tried many treatments including Botox, Chinese medicine, traditional medicine and more that never worked. Through hard work and consistency, I healed on my own. I started to take it day by day, changing my mindset, along with building habits that overtime became routine.

This experience gave me insight into the patient perspective and empowered me to take matters into my own hands. As a result, my health improved, I gained valuable lessons, and I have an inspiring story to tell.

Today, I sell a digital wellness guide inspired by my journey. You can purchase it on my website- https://bio.site/SarahRoseSlaughter.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My story starts at a simpler time — the early 2000s. I was born in 1999 and grew up in a big, close-knit family that valued connection, wholesome meals, and time outdoors.

From a young age, I loved dressing up, doing my makeup, and being in front of the camera. As a teen, I struggled with my weight, mental health, and confidence. I didn’t look like everyone else, and that made me stand out — something I eventually learned to embrace. That realization inspired me to pursue my dream of modeling.

I enrolled in modeling school at John Casablancas in Cincinnati, Ohio. I had the chance to potentially meet with international agencies in Dallas, Texas after completing the training. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford to go at the time, but I chose to focus on my education.

After graduating high school, I entered nursing school because I’ve always wanted to help people.
Over time, I realized my true calling blends both of my passions — connecting with people and being in the public eye. I made the decision to leave nursing and fully pursue my creative dreams.

Today, I’m proud to be chasing those dreams and continuing to grow in the industry. My mission is simple: be myself and spread positivity while doing it.

Right now, I’m excited to be part of the Style Icon Competition hosted by Elton John & Charlotte Tilbury, where supporters can vote for me. It’s an amazing opportunity to share my story, connect with others, and continue turning my vision into reality.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I’ve developed many skills over the years, from video editing to fashion to speaking Spanish, but there are three that stand out as the most impactful on my journey.

The first is my knowledge of health. I was fortunate to attend nursing school, where I learned in depth about the human body, healing, and essential nursing skills. While I didn’t ultimately pursue nursing as a career, that foundation gave me lifelong knowledge that can save lives and support both myself and others.

The second is empathy. I’ve always considered myself an empath, and truly embracing empathy has shaped much of my growth in my twenties. Understanding that everyone is going through something allows you to release judgment, not take things personally, and create space for compassion. This mindset not only lightens your own load but also strengthens the love and support you can offer to your community.

The third is a passion for learning. Whether in school, starting a business, or navigating everyday life, curiosity and a love of learning are crucial. I make it a point to learn something new every day because I believe knowledge is power.

My advice to others is to find what resonates with you and lean into it. Explore as much as you can, in the safest way possible, and remain open to learning from everyone you encounter. Sometimes the biggest lessons also come from knowing when to walk away. Above all, don’t let fear hold you back—just go for it.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

As a model, I’m always looking for new projects and collaborations. I want to work with a wide range of brands, companies, and products. I love immersing myself into as much as possible for the experiences and knowledge.

I’m also currently looking for new agency representation and am excited to see what the future holds as I continue to grow and expand my career.
