Meet Sarah Sutter

We recently connected with Sarah Sutter and have shared our conversation below.

Sarah, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My work ethic is something I credit to my family and the environment I grew up in. I was raised in a small town in Colorado, where opportunities felt limited, and it was clear from a young age that the only way to make it out was to work hard, whether that meant earning a spot as a college athlete or pursuing a career as a dancer. My parents and stepfather instilled in me the values of discipline, commitment, and perseverance. They led by example, working tirelessly to support our family, and their dedication became the foundation of my own success.

That mindset carried me through my years as a competitive athlete, as a classically trained dancer, and into my career as a professional showgirl in Las Vegas, where I became part of a legacy of hardworking women in entertainment. As a single mother, my drive was stronger than ever, because I knew my son is watching. I want him to see that no matter where you come from, success is built on resilience, grit, and showing up every day ready to give it your all. My father always said, “everything will be ok, as long as you get up and go to work.” And that is just what he has done for over 55 years as a Brick Mason.

I also come from family of strong women. My mom is an extraordinary nurse who has made taking care of others her life’s mission, and my stepfather’s dedication to education and changing the lives of the youth, as he has been teaching for over 45 years. My grandmother was the first woman to graduate from Syracuse Medical School, a true pioneer in her time.

I also have a very successful older brother and three incredibly smart younger brothers who have all excelled in athletics, academics, and business. Their determination and achievements pushed me to keep up, to work hard, and to never settle for less than my best.

I never was the best at anything, but I knew if I worked hard and was a positive light in any situation, people would remember that and continue to want to work with me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m Sarah Sutter, a Colorado native who has been living and performing in Las Vegas since 2003. My journey has been shaped by hard work, passion, and the desire to make a lasting impact in the arts and entertainment world. I’m a classically trained dancer, a former college athlete, and a proud graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado Mesa University, the University of West Florida, and Colorado State University. I’m currently working on my third master’s degree in Educational Leadership because I believe that as artists, we must also be leaders and advocates.

For ten years, I had the honor of performing in Donn Arden’s legendary Jubilee! at Bally’s Las Vegas as a dancer, line captain, and featured performer. I also spent six years as a dancer and soloist in the iconic Las Vegas revue Crazy Girls, which was an incredible experience and a vital part of preserving the legacy of historical showgirls in Las Vegas. My career has taken me across stages and screens, from dancing alongside The Killers, Jennifer Lopez, and Britney Spears, to appearing on shows like Last Comic Standing, The View, Hell’s Kitchen, and the Academy of Country Music Awards. These experiences, combined with my academic background, have fueled my passion for creating work that honors the legacy of the Las Vegas showgirl while inspiring the next generation of artists.

That’s why I launched Sarah Sutter Creative. A company that encompasses every aspect of my work: from creating and producing show numbers, designing costumes, and managing entertainment events, to developing digital content and making appearances to carry on the legacy of the true, last showgirls. My brand is about celebrating the art of performance in all its forms.

I’m also deeply committed to teaching and being a public servant. As the Dance Director at a local performing arts high school, I’m proud to support and advocate for the youth of Las Vegas—ensuring they have access to arts education, opportunities, and a safe space to grow.

It’s hard for me to narrow my passion down to just one thing because I don’t believe I’m meant to. I’m building a life and a career that merges all the things I love—dance, education, entertainment, and advocacy. That’s the heart of Sarah Sutter Creative: a platform that embraces every part of who I am as an artist, leader, and dreamer.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

If I could offer three pieces of advice to anyone looking to build a career in the arts, entertainment, or any competitive field, they would be:

First, always be the hardest working person in the room. Talent is important, but it’s grit, dedication, and the willingness to show up every single day ready to give 110% that truly makes the difference. Hard work is what opens doors, builds trust, and earns respect.

Second, your network is your net worth. Relationships are everything in this business and in life. Build genuine connections, show up for your peers, and be someone people can count on. The people you surround yourself with will elevate you, inspire you, and help you grow.

Lastly, knowledge and kindness is power. Never stop learning, whether it’s about your craft, your industry, or the world at large. At the same time, lead with kindness! It’s an underrated but invaluable strength that will take you far and help you leave a legacy you can be proud of.

These three principles have been my guide as I’ve navigated my own journey, and I hope they inspire others to pursue their passions with courage, purpose, and heart.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Absolutely! I’m always looking to collaborate with people in the community who are passionate about creating and inspiring—whether it’s something small and intimate or something bold and over the top! I’m especially interested in working with individuals and organizations who want to mentor and uplift the next generation of brilliant minds, the youth of Las Vegas, because I believe that shaping the future starts with investing in young artists today.

Of course, I’m also eager to connect with those who want to keep the art of classic Las Vegas entertainment alive and celebrate the legacy of the true showgirl. Whether you’re an artist, creator, educator, or someone with a vision for a new project, I’d love to collaborate and make magic happen together.
