Meet Sariah Kee

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sariah Kee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sariah, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

This is a great question. Throughout my journey I have learned that as long as I keep my confidence high in this sport nothing can bring me down. Over the years I had to keep telling myself that and working hard and over time I developed a strong confidence.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Well I am a multi sport athlete I cheer, play soccer, run track, play flag and volleyball. The most exciting thing about playing all these sports might just be the competition. I love to compete I like to get medals and trophies I love to work and rise to the top. I am also excited about The upcoming track and field season I know this year I have a lot of work to do and a lot to prove so no slacking.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

One skill had to be being athletic and a area of knowledge was me learning how to snap over a hurdle and another skill has to be adapting fast so there are my 3.

What advice do I have for people who are early in their journey?

Well I’d say keep working you’ll get there or it one day. Just keep your mind focused and have a reason to do what you do so you can look back when you’re lost. And remember the reason why you started.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?

This is a great question, I think it’s better to try and be more well rounded because if you’re just going all out on your strengths then you’ll never be great all round. For instance I’m a very weak distance runner but I am strong at sprinting and hurdling if I know I’m good at those already I’ll move on to trying to be a stronger distance runner so I can be a powerhouse and be great all around by building stamina.
