We were lucky to catch up with Saucey Scientists recently and have shared our conversation below.
Saucey, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
being born and raised in India, resilience is something that is inculcated in us. as a country, it is this trait that got us our freedom from the British in 1947. as individuals, it is the resilient nature of ours that helps us strive and grow amidst 1.3 billion people as competition.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As three restaurant veterans and world travelers with endless energy and curiosity, we wanted to create exotic flavours that feed the soul. We created premium quality sauces with complex flavours that elevate dishes to match your curious taste buds .
Every drop of our sauces deliver balanced heat and layers of flavours. It’s not just about hot , we bring out the flavour. We celebrate the taste of Nashville with a little something extra . ‘Every bite is full of thrill’.
Our sauce lab has grown into a commercial kitchen right into the heart of Nashville, we take our sauces and your health very seriously which has inspired us to create sauces that are gluten free ,vegan and have no artificial preservatives. Don’t think we need to say more . Whee!
We are the bosses of sauces.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
honesty, resilience and perseverance. these are the 3 qualities that we as individuals and company abide by and would advice any individuals specially entrepreneurs to keep in mind. entrepreneurship is difficult and filled with challenges and hardship. these 3 principles have helped us through our toughest moments.
we believe that if someone has the right attitude and willingness to learn, any skill or knowledge can be taught/given.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
our biggest challenge to date remains brand awareness. we are proud of our sauces and all our customers including anyone who tries them for the first time, absolutely love them. we like saying – ‘we have many happy faces, but just not enough’.
we are trying to participate in more farmers markets, cold calling and sampling grocery stores around the country and get listed on as many e-commerce platforms as we can. we have been bootstrapping this venture and so difficult for us to spend a lot of money on influencers etc to get the name out there.
we are also actively seeking investment.
