Meet Savannah Crippen

We were lucky to catch up with Savannah Crippen recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Savannah, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose by returning to the innocence that I had as a child. When I think back, young me had a strong connection to energy. I was always able to feel and connect to the energy of others, to nature, and to all the things in a vibratory state around me. I would often ask the adults around me for the answers to questions far beyond my years. I had a deep connection that sparked so much inquisition and wisdom from a young age. As I grew, family life, stress, and fear felt like it absorbed this intuitive nature from me. I felt less connected to nature, further away from God or source, and less curious about life. The transition through my teenage years and early twenties, felt like a different period of time, in which the outer world spoke so much louder than my inner world.

It was not until life started to test me in ways I could never have predicted that the spark of my inner world returned. It was through the experience of rejection, loss, heart break and failure that I decided it was time to return inside. Time to take a deep dive within. I began meditating, exercising, taking care of my mind, body and spirit. I started exploring spirituality, philosophy and personal development. I fell in love with working through trauma, childhood wounds and pain because it continuously aligned me closer to truth.

Attending school for Traditional Chinese Medicine was one of the biggest catalysts towards connecting me to my purpose. For it was here that I found people who spoke the same language and asked the same questions. I found a philosophy in healing the physical body that I aligned with. I felt so connected to the teachings of Eastern philosophy. During my schooling, I was exposed to Tibetan sound bowls. I got to witness how they were used in the clinic to re-tune patients to their bodies. The vibrations of sound bowls brought a peace and ease to their minds and spirits that was visible in the way that they experienced the sessions. As I was deeply in love with my own healing journey (and still am). I fell in love with watching people heal during their sessions.

Everything is energy, everything is vibration. Therefore, it is through energy and vibration that we can recalibrate our nervous systems. Being able to have a medium, like crystal alchemy bowls to channel such energies is powerful. It is pure magic (if you will). Being both a receiver and witness to what sound healing is able to do sparked something inside of me. This spark brought me right back to childhood. Back to that strong connection to the energy of all things, to seeking wisdom, to inquisition, to the infinite love of source and our creator. I found my purpose by returning to the inner child in me who was sent to share healing with the world, in only the way that I can.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hi beautiful people my name is Savannah, I have a B.A in Psychology, a Masters of Science in Acupuncture, and I am a Certified Sound Healing Practitioner. I was raised in a small town in New Jersey to two teenage parents. My parents tried their very best but my upbringing was challenging. From an early age, I was in touch with that “something” special. I had a vibrant spark for life and an understanding of all of its complexities. My mother would commonly insist, “I don’t know where you came from.” I enjoyed receiving the wisdom of the elders around me as a way to try to understand things beyond my years. I enjoyed the timeless perspectives of life that they gave. When I entered my teenage years and my parents divorced that light and joy grew dim. I had to help my single mother raise my siblings and take care of the house. Taking on the role of second mother from an early age was difficult. While I loved my family, it felt unfair to have to grow up so young.

I worked multiple jobs, played sports and pushed myself academically, so that college could even be a possibility. As high school ended, I managed to get multiple scholarships and left home to attend a four year university. I was a first generation college student, a role I took deeply personal. I pushed myself all through college using my “Type-A personality” and drive to excel through college. I would go on to graduate with honors, having completed thesis work, and holding many high level positions on campus.

As the end of college drew near, I dreamed of going to a PhD program for Clinical Psychology. Being the audacious student I was, I applied to over 14 different programs. After getting rejected from every program, I struggled with the acceptance of this fate. I had worked so hard, I had a 4.0 GPA, I did everything “perfect,” I did everything “right,” how can it be? This moment would go on to be what I call, the beginning of my path to enlightenment. The universe was aligning something bigger than my mind could even fathom.

Many breakdowns later, and after releasing immense amounts of anger, came the feeling of surrender. I had no choice but to surrender. One day while meditating under a tree on campus, I had a thought, maybe I was meant to take a different direction. One that aligned with a different path. I knew whatever I did, I wanted to help people. I started looking into different modalities of how to help people. All the stress of that year, led me to start increasing the time I spent meditating, incorporating yoga into my routine, as well as getting acupuncture. One day, during my acupuncture session, I had another thought. I spoke to my Acupuncturist about what a day in the life of an Acupuncturist was like. I started doing research into the schooling, applied, got accepted and the rest was history.

The ancient teachings of Acupuncture school would go on to affect my life in more ways than one. “I knew from day one that I had found my people. People who walk with that special something, that I had as an innocent child. People who walk within the light of their highest selves. People who care about diet, exercise, and the connectedness to mind, body and spirit.” I felt a rebirth of self and a new level of awareness and understanding.

I went on to complete my Masters in Acupuncture. It was following graduation, that I would have the second rebirth of self. My personal life had started to unravel in a way that I had never experienced before. I felt completely overwhelmed and in need of clarity. I decided to take a trip to the jungles of Peru, where I completed Reiki training from a Reiki Master.

During this adventure, I experienced what it was like to truly connect and tune into energy. I was able to feel the energies within and around me in a new way. This experience was further enhanced by having a life changing acupuncture session. I was able to be treated by a local acupuncturist, who had been treating the village I was staying in for years. “That experience brought up a lot of old hurt, wounds and anger. The space that was created allowed me to open my heart and release, unlike I had ever done before. I cried for hours in a hut in the middle of the jungle in Peru. I was in complete alignment. It was exactly where I needed to be. It was a spiritual purge. One that was needed so that I could move forward with a clear heart and step into my true light. After that moment, I was changed. I had returned to my childlike innocence.

Following my trip, I was led to The Sound Healers Academy, where again, I was aligned with my people. My mentors and fellow attendees of the academy were also doing the work to align to their truest selves. The academy changed me in all the best ways possible. I then went on to create Infused with Love and Feel Soul Free. Infused with Love, is my sound healing business, where I offer private 1:1 and group sound bath sessions. I have also created an online community, where people can experience on demand virtual sound baths. Feel Soul Free is a wellness based business, where my partner and I offer larger group and corporate level workshops and classes that incorporate yoga, sound healing and mindful connection.

It has been a JOURNEY to get to where I am today. I am in love with how I have created and am constantly creating my life. I feel so grateful to have created businesses that are so aligned with who I am at my core. I am honored to be able to share the gifts of sound and healing with the world. At both Infused with Love and Feel Soul Free, we measure our success by the number of people who report to us that their lives are enhanced because of attending a session or our classes. I am proud of my businesses, my brand, and my life. It is truly my greatest joy and honor to serve all of the beautiful humans open to experiencing these healing modalities.

While I am always happy to have aligned experiences. I am most excited to bring my offerings to the online space. Infused with Love has launched a monthly membership where people anywhere, anytime, can experience my sound baths. This membership is a private member-only community group, where you can connect with other members and receive support. It contains a library of on-demand virtual sound baths, inspirational audios, meditations, and breathing techniques. There are regular additions of new sound baths and classes each month. The library is always growing!

Feel Soul Free will also be launching an online community, where Yoga and Sound classes can be experienced from the comfort of your own home and at your own leisure.

I am so grateful for everyone who continues to support me and I am so excited to share my gifts with the world!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I think that the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are loving awareness, responsibility and belief. While I am very much still on this journey of growing my business. I think that these three qualities are the ones that have and continue to have the biggest impact on my life.

Loving awareness has taught me to simply observe everything. In my life, I haven’t always operated from this framework of thinking and it created a disruption in having true peace within myself and my decisions. When I started to operate from the consciousness of observing everything, it made it much easier for me to zoom out and look at the bigger picture of most situations. It also allowed me to stop judging myself so hard and to give myself grace. I am not perfect and I do not always know the next best decision to make. Practicing loving awareness allowed me to accept this aspect of myself. When you can truly love yourself, give yourself grace and allow yourself to fail, you build this relationship within that allows you to trust your intuition. Being aware means to be the observer of your life.

Responsibility has had another huge impact on my journey. Taking responsibility for my life has helped me to see that I am the creator of my life. Everyday I am making decisions that impact the direction that I am going in. I am always responsible for what happens. I am always responsible for how I choose to respond, to react, and how I treat others. Whether things are going good or bad in my life and my business, I have to always make choices that align me with my goals and path that I desire to be on.

Lastly and arguably the most important quality that has played a major role in my journey is belief. The belief in higher power, the belief in God, the belief in myself, the belief in my life, the belief in my purpose and just choosing to place my faith in belief. It all starts with me. I have to envision it in my mind and use all of my senses to truly feel and then embody what it is that I desire. There have been times along this journey, when I did not know the right next step, or if I would make it. In those times, I turned to belief and faith, in a way that I never knew. I have so much gratitude for those times because that is where the lessons came. In the end, it is never truly about the prize. The prize is the lessons that come from the quest to achieve the prize. I know I know! It sounds super cliche, but it is so true, in my own personal journey and the journey of so many others.

Advice I have to people who are early in their journey is to find an aligned mentor. Find someone who is further along than you on their journey and learn from them. This will help you to excel in ways you could not even imagine. Lastly, do some personal development work. Take a deep dive into who you are and why you do what you do. Do some inner child work, face your trauma/wounds, lean into pain and discomfort you will uncover so much about yourself here. This will create profound shifts in who you are and how you show up. It will only bring more awareness and love to yourself, which will then transfer over into any business, industry or profession you are in.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is the person who is ready and open to receive the healing vibrations of sound. What I do is not limited to ethnicity, religion, gender or age. During my sound baths, I always say, “There is no wrong or right way to experience a sound bath, you just need to be open to receive whatever is meant to come through for you”. When clients or guests show up to a sound bath they are all coming with different life experiences, traumas, perspectives and beliefs, at different times on their specific journey. Therefore, the experience will be different for everyone. However, if you are open, you will always receive what you need specifically at that time.

The corporate level workshops hosted by Feel Soul Free, are geared towards college students who are overwhelmed with staying on top of assignments and the stressors of college life, corporate employees who are working forty plus hours a week in a high stress environment, individuals experiencing hardships and are open for guidance and wellness enthusiast who enjoy mindfulness and fitness.

Whether it be a private sound bath with Infused with Love or a corporate wellness workshop with Feel Soul Free, the healing is open to everyone and anyone. The characteristics of my ideal client are simply being open, receptive and willing to receive the vibration of sound. That is it. There are no prerequisites needed for sound healing. In my opinion, that is the true beauty of it. There is no good or bad, wrong or right. In my private sound baths, as well as group workshops, everyone is welcome and everyone is worthy of healing.
