We were lucky to catch up with Savannah Pagnozzi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Savannah, so glad you were able to set aside some time for us today. We’ve always admired not just your journey and success, but also the seemingly high levels of self-discipline that you seem to have mastered and so maybe we can start by chatting about how you developed it or where it comes from?
My self-discipline comes from years of being in martial arts (makes you reaaallll tough), along with a long list of self-help books, and being frustrated with myself. When you realize that you are exactly where you are in life because of YOU, and you’re not happy with the place you’re in, that’s an uncomfortable spot to be, but a lot can be born from that realization.
Self-discipline is something that is developed over years of hard work: getting up when you don’t want to, choosing results over comfort, and thinking of others before yourself.
People get motivation and self-discipline confused. Motivation comes and goes. People don’t complete something based on motivation, they get to the finish line based on self-discipline. Self-discipline is a learned skill, and you strengthen it everyday by doing what you said you were going to, regardless of how you feel.
I’m also an addict of motivational speaking, along with watching interviews of the greats! Two of my favorite people to watch are any interviews with Kobe Bryant (RIP) and ET The Hip Hop Preacher (aka Eric Thomas). If these two don’t make you want to get up and be great, I’m not sure what will!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a stand-up comedian! The most exciting part about it is that I am truly living my dream. I remember a few years ago, being in my mid-20’s, unhappy, confused, and stuck. Then one day I woke up, decided I was worthy of more than what I was giving myself, and decided to go after my dream. The beautiful part of being an artist is that you get to create while you heal, and it is the best medicine for healing.
The most special part about my comedy to me, is by the end of my set, you’ll not only have learned about me, but also yourself. I talk a lot about my life journey and things we can all relate to on a human level, and talking to audience members after the show and hearing how they related to my story is so fun!
I just finished my first tour, and did 10 shows in 10 days in 3 different states! It was an absolute blast, and I can’t wait to get back on the road. I’m producing a show with Madi Walser in Austin on 3/6. The lineup is incredible, and information/tickets can be found here, https://tickets.lineleap.com/e/kFEV37we8pG2I5LYASH2.
I am working on a handful of projects behind-the-scenes… new road gigs, big birthday bash, etc… so please follow me on IG to keep up with it all, @savannahpagnozzi, and/or sign up for my email list, https://beacons.ai/savannahpagnozzi.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I think the first important quality when it comes to success is getting very clear on what you want. Most people never figure this out. Dig deep and decide what you want, write it out, put a flexible plan in place with goals, and don’t compromise for anyone.
And then from there, it’s very important is have a team around you. And no, not just friends and family that are supportive, although that’s important too. Put together a hired team that you pay to help guide you on where you want to go. I work with a coach in the comedy field for my career, a breath work coach for inner development and healing, and coaches in the gym to look good while I do it all ;). People who are further along, and have been where you are, can see the gaps you need to fill better than you can see them yourself, and there’s affordable ways to do this! Don’t underestimate the power of this.
The last quality I will emphasize on your journey of becoming is… the biggest road block you’ll ever be faced with is yourself. Your ego is going to get in the way, pride, stubbornness, resistance to change, etc. Embrace the mirror that life is going to give you, and work through it all. Even though it’s tough, I promise you that it’s worth it!
My advice is if you do these three things, and remain steadfast in your life vision, you can make your wildest dreams come true!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always looking for people to collaborate with! I love to produce shows, especially private parties for businesses, so if you’re looking to collab on something like this, please reach out.
On the same page as producing shows, if you’d like to produce and don’t know how or where to start, please reach out! I love to collab with new artists that need some assistance.
The best way to reach me is via email, [email protected] OR on Instagram, @savannahpagnozzi. Can’t wait!
