We recently connected with Sawyer St. Sin and have shared our conversation below.
Sawyer, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from my Grandmother. No matter what is happening she always takes care of business with grace and a smile.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a plus size model and burlesque performer. Most of my projects are based around my love of horror movies and metal music. I love performing in front of different crowds and meeting new people. In the last year I made a big move and have not been able to perform but I am working on new acts and hope to be back on stage and in front of a camera soon.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Being able to push through the rough times and staying true to yourself self is the most important thing for an artist. Know your worth and don’t let anyone tey and take advantage of you.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
In the world of modeling and burlesque there are still lots of people who feel plus size people don’t belong. Where I live there is only one burlesque show in town and they are not plus size friendly so I am working on producing my own show to showcase a diverse group of performers.
