Meet Scarlet Stoker

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Scarlet Stoker. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Scarlet, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my parents. They both have different stories and upbringings but are both extremely hard working people. Could be something simple like getting yard work done or showing up 100% for their jobs, it doesn’t matter, all I know is growing up they were both living examples of putting in hard work to everything you set out to do. Even if something doesn’t turn out how you thought or wanted it to, you had to and always have to work hard or put full effort towards anything and everything.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a personal trainer and coach. I work at an F45 location in Marietta GA. I coach soccer, track, and speed&agility at a young athlete sports performance gym called Fury. I’m also an actor, just waiting for The Walking Dead to realize they need me or The Rock to realize he needs me as a side kick. I’m a mom to an awesome almost 6 year old boy who is already too smart for me and this year my husband and I will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’m pretty tough. I have a thick skin I would say. I think playing sports all the way through college helped build that. I am very aware that I can’t be everything to all people or please all people. So what? Just like not everyone is meant to get along with everyone, I don’t expect to be everyone’s cup of tea, and being able to accept that is a valuable quality.

I’m also a sort of a chameleon. Whenever I move somewhere new or start working in a new place, I just fit myself right in. People are always surprised to find I’ve been somewhere a much shorter time than they thought. I just make myself right at home, for better or for worse.

Lastly, I know my strengths. You never want to come to me with a technology problem. Something wrong with your iPhone, please ask someone else. Problem doing your taxes, don’t ask me. I am good at many things, but I will be the first one to tell all the things I am NOT good at or won’t even try to do.

I think the best way to develop some of these skills is to look back at your life so far. Take stock of things that have worked, or not, and anything that you excelled at or problems you have solved. Building on positive building blocks from your own journey will be impactful going forward.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Something that I have been sitting on for too long now is that I have written two children’s books. I have one completely finished, with illustrations and has been edited. I have no idea how to publish things! I’m a coach and trainer, who happens to have a creative side. I would love a small publisher, mom and pop style. I’ve looked at self publishing through Amazon, but that’s a last resort. I would be really amazing to have a completed project in time for the holiday season of 2024.
