Meet Schakara Arrazola-Tiscareno

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Schakara Arrazola-Tiscareno. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Schakara below.

Hi Schakara, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
I remember years ago prior to being a business owner, I had a therapist whom supported me with implementing self-care. It took me a few years to fully understand the importance of consistently nurturing my basic needs.
Now as a Alternative Practitioner, I talk a lot about self-care in my practice. I find it is beneficial for others to understand that self-care can be expressed in so many ways. I encourage people to honor their authentic expression and choose an outlet that fosters their highest joy. The important element of self-care is to honor self and our basic needs physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My self-care is not cookie cutter. It is based on listening and tending to my needs in that present moment. It can be as simple as taking a moment for self. Or even implementing a few deep breaths when overwhelmed.

Give yourself grace in this process. It can be frustrating and exhausting at first to properly take care of self. By taking care of ourselves, we learn resourcing and that we are worthy of positive, healthy loving connections. This balance creates nourishment for healing, healthy boundaries and growth.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I feel the ability to honor self and speak from experience allows me to show up authentically for others. I live for deep connections and value safety and transparency when exploring life and relations. My advice to others is to speak your truth and stand in your authentic power. What is more healing than coming into integration with your true essence.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client are people whom are interested in pursuing their certification training end of life support and/or reiki. Along with individual whom yearn for an intimate setting of no judgement to foster thier healing journey with others.
Life and Death. Grief and Trauma. Love and Pain.
These are all key elements of our existence, that allow us to connect to one another and one self. It is an honor to cultivate and hold these type of spaces for my community.
