Meet Schiniqua Brown-Rodriguez

We were lucky to catch up with Schiniqua Brown-Rodriguez recently and have shared our conversation below.

Schiniqua, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

My journey to developing confidence and self-esteem wasn’t an overnight success, but more of a gradual climb. It started with small victories – like graduating from college with two small children, and obtaining a 501 C3 for the non-profit I founded and making a difference. Each success, no matter how small, built on the last, showing me that I was capable and my ideas are valuable. Surrounding myself with supportive friends and family who believed in me, even when I doubted myself, also played a huge role. They helped me recognize my strengths and encouraged me to embrace my imperfections, understanding that those quirks are what makes me, me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As the founder of Agape on Earth, my days are filled with purpose, connecting with people and families to vital resources like shelters, rehabilitation centers, and food banks. What truly excites me is the direct impact we have on people’s lives, from facilitating support groups focused on communication, conflict resolution, and self-awareness, to our monthly outreaches where we provide clothing, toiletries, and essentials to the unhoused community in downtown
Phoenix. Beyond Agape, I pour my heart into volunteering with a youth organization, creating safe spaces and opportunities through summer camps, fall activities, and after-school tutoring. As an author of “Getting Over Rejection” and “Don’t Worry Trust Believe and Have Faith,” I’m constantly seeking new ways to uplift and empower, most recently through my workbook, “Empower You,” which I’m eager to share with women in shelters and group homes, reminding them of their
strength and potential.
My goal is to show others how to turn their pain into power by over coming adversities

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back I know that faith, ambition and self-awareness are key to any successful journey.

My advice to anyone that is starting their journey is to continue to evaluate yourself, write down your goals and get around like-minded people. Never be afraid to try something new or different! Believing in yourself and your mission is important because everyone is not going to agree. Those God given talents and skills should be seen!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am looking for both partners and collaborators.

Partners to assist with the Monthly outreach for items such as clothing, toiletries, hygiene items, water, snacks and volunteers.

An ideal Collaborator is a person or organizations that is aligned with the mission to encourage others to overcome adversity. This connection is seeking a motivational speaker or key note speaker at various events.

I am looking forward to meeting and growing our network.
