We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Scott Griffin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Scott , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Honestly, my confidence didn’t come from getting everything right, it came from surviving getting things wrong and realizing I was still standing. Over time, I learned to trust myself by showing up consistently, doing the work, and keeping my word to myself and others. Confidence is built when you stop waiting for permission and start believing that your experiences, even the hard ones, actually qualify you to be in the room.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
At my core, I help people become homeowners, not just mortgage holders, and that mindset has shaped everything I do professionally. Whether it’s through television, lending, leadership, or Believe Bolder, what excites me most is helping people see what’s possible when they believe bigger than their fear.
Believe Bolder is an extension of that mission. It’s about spotlighting incredible people who took bold beliefs and turned them into real impact. Right now, I’m especially focused on expanding the podcast and using media as a force for good, inspiring entrepreneurs, leaders, and everyday people to step fully into who they’re meant to be.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
First, resilience. The ability to get knocked down and still get back up is everything. Second, curiosity. The moment you stop learning, you stop growing. And third, integrity. Long-term success only happens when people trust you.
For anyone early in their journey, I’d say this: be coachable, ask questions, and don’t rush the process. Mastery comes from repetition and humility, not shortcuts.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
I’d spend it exactly the way I try to live now, just with even more intention. I’d invest deeply in relationships, create things that outlive me, and help as many people as possible believe in themselves. I’d choose joy more often, fear less often, and make sure that when people say my name, it’s connected to impact, kindness, and courage.
