Meet Scott L. Brand

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Scott L. Brand. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Scott E. below.

Scott L. appreciate you sitting with us to share your wisdom with our readers. So, start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from loving what I do. This allows me to stay strong even when there are obstacles that I need to conquer. Working for an engineering firm on widely visible transportation project can be challenging since there are often highly technical concepts to understand and incorporate into my job performance involving public information and project management.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
During the day I work for a public transit project impacting over 20 miles of constituents throughout Miami. The project has a price tag that nearly reaches $90 million As the face of the project I put out fires everyday and work closely with constituents that are impacted from the southernmost point of Miami all the way to Hialeah, the sixth largest city in Florida. I also manage the project on a daily basis and collect and report on daily activities and issues in order to allow the project to move smoothly. I am the gateway between the transit agency, the public, and the contractor in a high pressure environment where I communicate with all three parties on major issues in an effort to meet construction related deadlines on a daily basis.

In the evenings and weekend I am a host of a fast growing sports podcast that’s theme involves interviewing highly visible collegiate and professional athletes. In each podcast there is one recurring message. How has the athlete overcome obstacles to convey to my audience. The ultimate gain is that the podcast viewers learn highly valuable life-skills that they can use to face and succeed in their life challenges.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Passion, Strive for perfection and innovation.

My advice for others is to never become complacent on what they do. Always try to improve on your product from integrating new technologies to watching your competitors to gain more knowledge.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
As my YouTube subscribe base and views continues to grow exponentially, I am looking to have more prominent guests on my show that are relevant to the area I represent. For example, since I am in Miami, I would like to have soccer players as guests on my podcast and the higher profile the better.

Additionally, I am looking for podcast sponsors to add a revenue stream to my podcast. This would be a win win for everyone as I am heading quickly to 2K subscribers and range between 700 and 2200 views per podcast.
